Same feeling, would be fun to actually got them summoned to fight them ^^
Can't we pick a Primal instead ? I want to be a Sophia follower *.*
Or Ramuh, I like the peacefull idea.
People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.

♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥
I would like them to do more with the gods that we have, than I would like to see new gods added. The only in-game effect of one's deity I've seen up to this point is a decoration if you choose to get married. Well, that and a totally inconsequential elemental resistance modification that was likely a holdover from 1.0.
I want to see NPCs that say different thing to you depending on your deity. I want to see areas that provide special opportunities if you happen to be a worshiper of the right kind, like salesmen that will only sell to worshipers of Nophica, or whatever. Dungeons, where you need to be the right faith to access certain completely optional areas. That kind of thing.
This particular aspect of character creation feels woefully underutilized to me, and I hope that it improves in the future.
This is the conclusion I've come to as well. The story so far has shown that the faith in The Twelve can be just as devastating, if not more, than the beastmen's worship of their primals. They are all the same. That's why I would be ok with more deity options and would also like to request the option to not have a patron deity at all.
I'd prefer the 12 being actual Deities than being Primals, personally.
That doesn't mean primals couldn't be made of the concept of the 12, but the 12 themselves should be Gods, which I wouldn't mind seeing reflected somehow. Like I mentioned earlier, I would not mind seeing Priest or Cleric added as a healing job in the next expansion, focusing on the worship of the 12. Perhaps some archaeological excavation or an island somewhere is found, and there are either records or living people who worship the twelve and wield their power. Perhaps the Soul Crystals for these jobs are referred to as, 'Magicite,' a crystallized manifestation of the link between mortal and deity. The specific crystal you get is linked to the God you chose as your Guardian Deity on character creation, and would be linked to a for-fun, aesthetic kind of ability, or a minion.

Considering the Twelve bring absolutely zilch to the table in terms of gameplay bar minute changes to elemental resistance (which mean nothing), what will adding more deities to the game do besides complicate existing lore which most RPers are going to ignore anyway?
If you want to have the Dawn Father as your Guardian deity, go right ahead? What do you need the devs to justify that with a title for?
You're good at the game? You're an elitist.
You're using a parser to better yourself? Elitist.
You're making suggestions on how someone can improve themselves? E l i t i s t.
You wipe a farm party constantly but you're having fun playing your way. Nah you're fine dude.
This community astounds me at times.
I understand why someone would want something like this, but seriously I rather not have more fluff that has no meaning to the game. The whole choose a deity thing is pointless & adds nothing to the game unless your a roleplayer and game apretty much favors roleplayers it is. I'm sure in 1.0 that Tanaka had plans to do something with the twelvem but what those plans were have obviously been scraped. Though it would be nice to see your character pray to said god of choice for immersion purposes (a special emote and maybe gain a small buff), but for a game that FEELS like it barely embraces its lore? (and leaves you to read about it instead of experiencing it in the game?) I'm sorry but this would add nothing to the game.
