especially given that my character clips into the ground a lot of the time, but like, even if you played the game super zoomed in it would still be hard to see that tiny gap if we were floating slightly. On the contrary, making adjustments to a character's height is not a requirement for implementing a barefoot feature. I think most of the people that desire this feature would rather have a barefoot character that floats just a tiny bit above the ground (as if they were wearing invisible shoes) than not have this feature at all.
Which is to say, I want barefeet too!
it was a dev reply may want to look up the other 30 threads one has a dev reply saying they can't do this. I saw it sometime during 2.0 era.On the contrary, making adjustments to a character's height is not a requirement for implementing a barefoot feature. They can design gear that gives you horse legs, i think they can make a foot that touches the ground. I don't doubt they are able to redesign that portion of the model, some shoes already adjust the height of the ankle. Most sandals for example.it would add/tAke away height from the character. (based on how they coded gear) if you notice all gear has a heel or layer very little has a flat foot. the closet shoe i saw that was flat was the crafted moonfire sandals
they already explained they can't do it, for the reason of coding height correctly.

You just adjust the character model down the z-axis a few pixels to fix that. It's not that difficult since we already have footwear that modifies the height of the character model, so the tech exists in the game now. It's just a matter of adding something that adds negative height to the character.it would add/tAke away height from the character. I really wish they'd do this. I'd prefer it to be the default when not wearing shoes, or as a toggle option like with showing headgear, but would settle for it being implemented using a glamour item.
Yes, just as nearly all shoes currently in the game do already. That's not an issue. (Or rather it's an issue they've long since taken care of, and wouldn't need to do anything different for this.)
The reason they haven't done it so far is that Yoshi thinks bare feet look weird, and that walking around without shoes on would hurt your feet. (Never mind that that isn't true at all and many people do it routinely.) It is true that in Japan going barefoot outside is rare. But just because he thinks it looks strange to go out barefoot, our characters end up having to wear sandals in a hottub and while sleeping.

Nope. There is a texture mod that adjusts the difference without any issues. Granted, the models for our feet in this game are really bad but it's easily doable. The devs simply don't want to.it would add/tAke away height from the character. The height thing doesn't bother me, especially as it will be used most for lounging around and swimming where you're horizontal anyway. The BLM Wolfliege boots and other more 'extreme' heels already mess with your height and leg shape a lot and I still rock those perfectly happily. I actually carry a whole bunch of the dyeable sandals around because I hate the default ones but also hate wearing non-matching sandals, so being able to equip a version of the emperor's new bare feet (tentative name) would be lovely.
(Edit: Mess with your total height, rather than changing the location of the top of your head. If that makes sense. It already happens with heels so it happening in the opposite direction doesn't bother me at all.)

Try these bad boys for glamour. Not sure if they are still at the vendor but they are on my Marketplace for around 5k.

You realize that those just give you the default white sandal appearance.Try these bad boys for glamour. Not sure if they are still at the vendor but they are on my Marketplace for around 5k.
