Then there is loosing a roll due to someone who doesn't give a rat's behind about that particular item deciding that the 800 seals they could get from it is important enough to completely remove your chance of getting a 30 ilevel increase for one of the other jobs you're leveling at the same time.

Why is your off-job more important than my 800 seals? Those seals are useful to me - I use them to fund my Squadrons, pay for Ventures, buy crafting materials, and so on and so forth. There's no reason I should feel any obligation to sacrifice my own indirect progression in favor of your direct progression (if gearing an off-job can even be considered direct progression).

You don't get to decide which is more important. A need is a need. He needs those seals for something and yea it is "important enough" to remove your chance of getting it.

I'm so thorn... why are you not running that other job in that hypothetical run? You could be rolling need on that job. Being able to gear up another job with your current one is a perk, not supposed to be the mean way of getting it. IF Square considered this to be a valid principal way of progressing another job, then the solution is not to limit the use of Need, but expand it for any one that has an Other Job that can equip that item AND is in level range of that item.

Example:
lvl 53 DRG chest drops, your DRG secondary job is 54, you get to roll Need.
lvl 53 DRG chest drops, your DRG secondary job is 50, you don't get to roll Need.
lvl 53 DRG chest drops, your DRG secondary job is 58, you don't get to roll Need.

PS: the GC seals work towards my Anima weapon progression, and I'm also wasting time on that run that I am doing ONLY for anima weapon progression, because THAT is what I want those Lores for, you bet I'm going to run Need!

want gear for that other job you are leveling? then play as that job! that way you can need on the gear. As someone who's second class is a tank i understand i don't the gear often and i'm fine with that as my main is DPS Nin. if i see that need button i need it. the only time i ever even greed is for my WAR or for WVR desynth. if it isn't 1 of those 3 things then i pass on it

So... YOU get to work on two jobs at the same time and multitask, but I dont get to work on my one job because I'm rolling need on an item that I'll turn into GC-seals, that go towards my relic?
Or you got to work on two jobs more easly and comfortable (really, we've discussed this: there are other and better means to gear up a class beside dungeon drops) by not letting me role "need" on items that drop for my class that I need for other purposes? Want gear for a specific class? PLAY that class!
