[SUGGESTION] Modify the function of "Need" option for loot

The only thing I've seen is "but I need seals and desynths". This is not something they can only do while in a job/class that can roll "need". Where's the refutation? It's nowhere to be seen.

Definition of need

Ex. no need to apologize
Ex. the need to pay taxes

Call me silly but even if for desynth or GC seals for a relic seems to fit the first one.

Turn ins for ranking up a FC seems to fit 2, 3 and maybe 4.

You aware that you dont want to change the loot-system, Cordie, but only make it more annoying and difficult to use gear for any other purpose but wearing it (may it be for glamour or stats)?

Yes and its a good reason - one that you cant understand when you dont craft. And while its not something that I can ONLY do with the class that can roll need on an item, by choosing a class that correspond well with my desynth-classes I can influence it quite heavly.

More annoying and difficult? Just "greed" in this case. Or let it time-out; much easier than interacting with any menu.

I didn't know "expert delivery" was the only way to get GC seals. Maybe they should have added more ways to get seals, haven't they done that yet?


The burden of choice on what classes you want to level lies with each of us separately. We can't complain that one class is more difficult to level (in desymth skill) than others any more than we can complain dps queues are slower than tanks'.

So... äähm, I'm getting this right you want a system that memorizes how you obtained an item (if it was through "need" or through "greed") and then change what you can do with this item based on this condition and the spiritbonding status?
If you can make it anymore complicated for no good reason, let me know, please!
And you dont want to change the loot-system at all - as in: keep the need and greed options - but make it more "difficult" to use the gear for any other purpose but wearing it?

YOU believe the only valid need for gear is to wear it - while the game clearly thinks otherwise, by opening up all those different options on what to do with the loot. And its okay if you dont want to do that, thats cool - but here are enough people who would like to get their desynth/relic/seal/retainer-progression going - and the game supports that.
We're having items that cant be turned in (or desynthed) - Dun Scaith, Zurvan/Sophia weapons,... - so IF the devs want to ensure you only roll on stuff that you want to wear, they'll put it in the game. And seeing how those restrictions get lifted after a while, they obviously dont intend us to hold on to that stuff forever. And good lord I love it to grab those paladin shield&sword and get my 3k seals for them...
