I DONT UNDERSTAND THIS THREAD AT ALL.

At this point, it probably was best for Cordie to make a thread separating her (his?) idea(s) from the other thread's OP.
I'm still not sold on the idea, although the 10% spiritbond idea (or insert percentage here) that is needed before a piece of gear becomes viable for alternative uses isn't too bad. It just feels like an unnecessary extra layer to the system.
Pro DPS tactic: Big glowing orange AOE = "Stand here to boost your DPS!"
~Non Requiem Aeternum~
What purpose would that 10%-"gate" serve though? Making sure people are not bothering with desynth and GC-seals anymore and just letting gear drop to the floor?
Or would you also be in favour of a system that puts that restriction only on gear you got through "need" - infact giving the system yet ANOTHER thing to check on your gear?
And why is dungeon gear so important that someone shouldnt be allowed to roll "need" on it just because they're not going to wear it?
Everyone in a dungeon-run has the chance of having gear drop for their class, so they can need and have first priority on it. Since the df tries not to double dps, even they have a decent chance to have first priority SHOULD there item drop.
And if someone really wants a specific piece, speaking up about it will STILL be better than just hoping people wont need on it - because with the idea of only need giving the 10%-debuff, there could still be 3 other people greeding along side you to get it and you can still lose out on it, so... how would that be better than saying "Hey, could you please let me have XY?" Now that we can even pass after picking need/greed you can even ASK when a piece of gear already dropped.
I really dont see why this system has to change and punish crafters (mainly...) just because people cant manage to speak up in a dungeon or get butthurt when someone says "Sorry, but I'll need anyways, because I came here as this class to need"
you became quite famous now in this forum eh OP
This thread should just end. You want gear for a job, play the job, simple. If you don't play it, why do you want gear for it? Seriously, end the thread with this, it's a simple system that isn't broken. If you don't get it because someone else has a job that can lot too, run again.
Elaborate troll?

A thorough, well prepared troll is still a troll. At the end of the day the OP has produced a terrible idea that is horribly received by the community, and rightly so.http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...yers%21/page26
