    [SUGGESTION] Modify the function of "Need" option for loot

    If gear loot is acquired by rolling "Need", then:
    1. Flag it as unsellable, non-discardable, ineligible for GC turn‑ins, and ineligible for desynthesis.
    2. Remove the flags when they reach 10% to 100% spiritbond.


    The use of gear loot for the DoM/DoW class/job a player is playing is either:
    • equipping it, or
    • using it for glamour

    All other cases of using gear loot (Grand Company expert delivery, desynthesis, selling, discarding) are not specific to any DoM/DoW job/class. Therefore, providing the same "Need" option for these cases is not justified.

    So, if I get a piece of gear, and use it maybe twice to enter a higher level of content, get a better replacement, I have to use this old piece because you were salty about some Crystal Tower drops?

    Come on. This is a really bad suggestion. As if my armory chest isn't filled up enough with all the crafting gear and glamours already, you want me to have to wear gear 200 ilvls below what I usually wear in case I change my mind?

    This is a terrible idea. The fundamental point remains, if a player plays their role in a dungeon there is no reason that you can give that is fair that alters that player's right to have the same access to loot rolls as everyone else in the dungeon. What you are asking for is in effect penalizing some veterans for being veterans. I think that would result in a reduction in people running DF content.

    Thanks for noticing. A 10% spiritbond is more reasonable if you only need the gear for 1 or two instances. I corrected the relevant point accordingly.

    Let's make the game even more complicated than it is to prevent people having fun! This was a bad idea when it was suggested in the existing thread which is still on the first page of General, and it's still a bad idea. Sorry.

    For the dozenth time, if people want a particular drop they can just ask their allies to help out.
