But the textures exist already, and the PLD switch around is such an easy fix. I honestly think its less a lack of resources and just neglect on the developers part.I think is one of those 'necessary evils' that we have to deal with. Of course it would be great if every weapon could aesthetically match its name and description, but due to resource restrictions I think it's likely that this will continue in future for these kinds of 'levelling' weapons.
This is true, if the textures are already there I see no reason why they shouldn't at least match with what they're supposed to match.
As for why this has happened, who knows. It may well be that they simply said 'eh just stick whatever textures on whatever weapon who cares'.
Conversely though, it may be a bug or maybe just an honest mistake by one of the programmers. Regardless, I think the only way we'll ever get to know if this is going to continue is by waiting for 4.0.
One may hope they dont do the same in Stormblood. Its just very immersionbreaking for me to go through ARR where all of the items corelate with their names only to get hit in the face with the mess that is these items. This is true, if the textures are already there I see no reason why they shouldn't at least match with what they're supposed to match.
