Upcoming Lancer's Arm glamour; item name confuses me

An upcoming item, a Lancer's Arm glamour named "Compliant Golden-hooped Rod" to be specific, just confuses me. The item in question is part of a set of glamour from the Chinese servers, themed after Sun Wukong a.k.a. the mythological figure the Monkey King.

What I don't understand is why the English localization team would choose such an absurd name for the item. I mean, the french name; "Bâton magique du Roi des Singes" which translates out to "Magic Staff of the Monkey King" at least references the monkey king. I guess my question here is; why would the team choose an English item name that sounds so goofy? I mean it doesn't even roll off of the tongue well, try saying it out-loud. Why not use a more direct translation, or are the very least something close like Rod of the Monkey King?

Here is a screenshot of the item in question, in case anyone is curious.
