So you can turn off the equipment tooltips, or use ALT to temporarily send them away

Why can't you set it up so the tooltips are off, but hitting ALT will temporarily bring them back?

There's already a huge amount of people that don't even read the tooltips of their skill, and you want on option to take it off? What we need is a bigger tooltips with blinking light show and a confirmation button that acknowledge you've read it.

    j.k... or maybe not?

People are more likely to turn something off and on again than the other way round.

I'm not sure if I'm missunderstanding you and if you're simply asking for an option to turn the tooltip off permantly - but right now it can also be read as that being the default-setting. And in that case its an even bigger NO - people are again more likely to figure out how to turn something off instead of looking up how they can turn it on (specially if they might not even know it exists)

Quite honestly I dont even get the problem - you only see tooltips when you hover over the item and for gear the tooltip actually contains intresting information, does it not?

It's a good idea. If that were an option, I'd be inclined to use it. At a certain point, you kind of memorize all the tooltips, and it becomes less likely that you'd need to read them. At that point, it would be helpful to hide them unless needed, and holding ALT (R2) would be a very easy way to show them.

So you don't understand what I'm talking about, and you don't even know the existing options the game has... yet you are sitting here in opposition of the concept.
