SAM sharing with MNK

I was just reading another thread about what your pre Stormblood goals are. I didn't want to derail that thread but im curious if anyone can answer me this....

So MNK and SAM are going to be sharing gear sets is what I've heard? Is that correct? And if so does that mean that everything lvl 50+ that MNK's can currently wear will also be the gear SAM will be using at launch?

Yes. Exactly like other Heavensward jobs. Dark Knight for example can equip any other tank gear (except job specific like Artifact gear). So, Samurai will be able to equip any monk gear, except the job specific for monk only. That means, aside the Monk artifac, the Samurai can wear the other stuff like Poetics, Lore or Scripture gear.

For the most part, yes! Like Xlantaa said, most everything that MNK can equip now should be available to SAM at the launch of 4.0. So, it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a 50 and 60 capped sets ready and waiting.

I know this isn't to do with SAM but has there been any word on what RDM will be able to cross? Like since its a sword and magic will we get some of GLD and some of the magic attack skills or something?

They're only gonna be able to cross skill caster stuff. Red Mage is considered a mage.

cool so they will come with their own sword skills. Oh i can't wait, RDM was my go to class in FFXI.

No. They are casters, not melee. If they will have any cross class abilities, they would come from SMN/ BLM.

Correct, but don't forget CCS will be available to all without having to level up said classes come 4.0. Or at least that's how they're making it sound.

Wonder if the fact that samurai is sharing monk gear, that the designs for 24 man gear will finally not be a recolor of nin gear
