FFXIV Boot Error - Unable to complete version check

    Hello,

I've been having version check fails for the majority of yesterday and today. The game worked completely fine when I first played it yesterday, and then when I went back onto the game about 4 hours from the initial beginning point, I started getting these "FFXIV Boot Error - Unable to complete version check" problems.

I am unable to open the launcher at all. I just get the error message after pressing 'play'.

I checked around for possible solutions to this problem and so far I've had no luck. I've tried:

    -Reinstalling
    -Flushing DNS/changing DNS servers
    -Changing 'BootVersionCheckMode' to 1
    -Verifying game integrity on Steam
    -Restarting my computer
    -Restarting the modem/router
-Deleting the FFXIV folder in hopes that it would repair itself
    -Changing compatibility
    -Changing folders to 'read-only'
-Attempting to launch via a mobile hotspot/VPN. [Edited March 5th, 2017].

I am able to launch the launcher by launching the "ffxivboot.exe" file in the folder in the Steam directory, albeit it tells me that nothing is downloaded and attempts to re-download absolutely everything and I don't think this is a solution to playing the game, because I don't know what will happen when I eventually end up (hopefully) pre-ordering Stormblood (assuming this problem still exists at that point).

I do play this game via Steam, and I have posted on the discussion board there, but so far nobody has been able to give me a solution. I'm hoping that it's possibly just an issue that my ISP (Cox) is having with the game servers (or something), but so far I haven't been having issues with any other connections or games.

If anyone has a solution to this, I'd greatly appreciate it.
