Should I just start over?

Hello all!

I just got my White Mage to 34, and I've gotten a little bored with it and decided to try Maurauder / Lancer and then Dragoon.

For the most part I've leveled my White Mage with just the main story quest and hunting logs, so I wouldn't be able to do that again if I chose another path.

Any suggestions?

I would not start over, you need some of those jobs to access other jobs, so just pick another job to play and grind out the levels through dungeons, fates, potd, and hunting logs.

I don't mind doing that. I guess that's one good thing about this game, one character can be all of the classes. I don't have to level a bunch of alts 0_0

Pretty sure (though might not actually understand it) you get an exp boost if you have a class that is higher level than the one you are on; i.e. you should level faster on new class for having WHM up there. Plus you've probably unlocked the challenge log by now, so you get to use that right away. The hunting log is a pretty bit boost early on. You've even got a chocobo by now (I should hope), which can help if you're fighting a bit above your level. With everything you have available, you'll probably burn through several levels pretty quick and be back on track in no time. Could even be it would take you longer starting over.

I actually forgot to do the quest for the Chocobo companion. Gonna go ahead and do that! I already got my Maurauder to 11, so soon I can start Lancer =D It is going extremely fast.

YOU GET A BONUS TO EXPERIENCE TO EVERY JOB THATS UNDER THE LEVEL OF YOUR HIGHEST JOB IN THIS CASE YOUR LEVEL 34 WHM. JUST DO DUNGEONS AND SPEED LEVEL IT TO WHERE YOU WERE. NO NEED TO MAKE A NEW CHARACTER.

I'd definitely recommend trying different classes until you find one that doesn't bore you. It will make content more enjoyable. And as others have said you get a bonus to exp:

The Armory Bonus is additional experience granted to any combat class you have that is NOT your highest level class. From levels 1-49, you receive +100% additional experience for secondary classes that are lower level than your highest level class. At level 50, this bonus decreases to only 50%.

The bonus applies to kills, FATEs and leves. The amount of experience granted has nothing to do with the distance in levels from your highest class.

The Armory Bonus, as previously mentioned - does not apply to non-combat classes such as gatherers & crafters.

Guildhest bonus exp and hunting log are class specific exp. I'd recommend doing those just because doing them later is not beneficial. Side quests are once per character so you can save them for later if you're not interested in them right now. Continuous, repeatable exp sources include dungeons (leveling roulette), Palace of the Dead, fates, challenge log and levequests, although it's preferable to use leve allowances on crafting or gathering leves for efficiency's sake.

Ill restate a bit whats already been said and add a point or two.

Restarting is completely unnecessary. The extra levels you got on white mage will only serve to boost you early on as you work on marauder/lancer/whatever. You'll continue getting the armory bonus exp that was mentioned until one of your classes passes the level of your white mage(and if you get bored with this and decide to go back, white mage would then have that boost for being the lower level class). As was mentioned, you now have the chocobo companion option to make soloing a little easier which is totally a plus. And ill re-emphasize that your hunting log(and guild hest first timer bonus too) is per-class. So you can redo those kills for the bonus exp all over again.

And one thing that nobody mentioned, have you done the hall of the novice training yet? For completing the training courses available you get a set of armor(good armor - you can do this multiple times for sets that fit different jobs), but more importantly when you finish the last one you get a ring that provides bonus exp up to level 30. So if you havent yet, do that now(either with your probably 15 by now marauder/lancer or even just with your white mage so you can get the bonus exp immediately). Combine that with a dungeon or two, maybe a short trip into PotD, and a few entries in the challenge log(which, again, resets weekly on tuesdays so these can be done many many times) and youll be caught back up in no time and chasing down leads so you can save the Limsans from the danger that Titan poses - and the rest of the storyline beyond that too! unless you like Roleplaying and want to born again you don't really have to restart, let's say it's time consuming..but since you're below level 50, you would easily catch up but no it's not really needed. I'd restart if there were no more interesting contents to do for me lol.
