    Dev Request: Glamour Collection Feature

I think that the game would benefit from a Glamour Collection Feature which stores the appearances of gear which will free up inventory and will make glamouring gear faster.

I have been playing WoW Legion and am very impressed with their "transmog" appearance collection feature. Anytime an appearance is obtained from a piece of gear it automatically unlocks under the "appearances" tab. There is no need to keep the item because the appearance is permanently unlocked so it does not take up inventory slots.

FFXIV is very centered around the glamour system as a means to motivate players to do seasonal events and go back to older content. I really do think the player base would highly enjoy this feature and would drive people to collect all the glamour pieces without fear of running out of inventory. I hope the development team at some point in the future decides to implement a similar feature.

*I know someone will probably say they will never develop a system like this since extra retainers is a source of revenue but might as well put the idea out there if it isn't already*

I see the thing with retainers but also I still use 6 retainers and they aren't necessarily packed with gear for glamour, one of them has a ton of weapons I'll never use though, primal stuff, so I still think your idea is valid, maybe make weapon appearances not saved but armours could be saved to this new system? Though I guess then people would wonder why not both. I'm sure a team looking for the pro's and cons of this could find solutions fairly easily.

Worst case scenario SE could make the feature a small extra sub cost. For example an extra retainer is £1.15 or 1.40 euro, maybe the new feature would be a flat £3 per month or something. I still think the idea is more efficient than multiple retainers regardless and has more impact on the inventory issues of FF, so I'd say worth the cost personally.

I'd like to see them replace the armoire system with something like gw2's account wardrobe or wildstar's holowardrobe.

This is suggested every couple of weeks and has been asked to Yoshi P before. His response back then was that they weren't working on it and they would be looking to expand inventory over looking at a wardrobe system.

That was a while ago though so things might have changed. Its worth mentioning though that such systems seem to take a while to create. WoW took about 3-4 years from when they first mentioned they were working on it to actually releasing it.

As Belhi said, the current stance seems to be that increasing Inventory Space is their preferred solution. In the immortal words of Zoidberg...

I don't think they'll add any solution that would free a ton of space. The more inventory problems you have means its more likely that you'll spend money on retainers. If anything, I'm surprised retainers are still account based and not per character.

Yeah, the wardrobe in WoW is better than FFXIV's system hands down, even if we don't consider inventory space. It just makes life a lot simpler and is much more convenient. Right now, WoW's transmog system is basically superior to FFXIV's in every way, and SE should really take a look at importing its core features–permanent appearance storage, storing different transmog profiles, and spec dependent (class dependent for this game) transmogs.

    Yes to all of this.

GW2 has a fantastic system and would love to have something similar.

Me too really, both those systems worked well, fast, easy and no-where near as bulky and bloated as the system here is. It's in dire need of an overhaul especially since the game throws new transmog items at players every random event and main patches. Additionally I really would adore if they worked in a system similar to Wildstar's housing system where un-used furnishings go to a housing storage crate.

I honestly believe they never will work on it simply because they can't come up with a lore behind it that would make sense. While the lore for retainers and storage is established. Since here every basic MMO function is locked behind some form of lore.

    Bank storage retainer: Lore
    Armor Dye: Lore
    Transmogging: Lore
    Housing: Lore
    Character re-customization: Lore

Yes I'm happily in the boat of those that would gladly throw any lore reason out the window for convenience, QoL, and more streamlined systems.
