Famitsu interview confirm RDM use INT and share casting gear/SAM share striking gear!

It's on the header of this article. (https://www.famitsu.com/news/201703/01127999.html)

    『FFXIV』赤魔道士の主要ステータスはINT、装備はキャスター枠と判明!
and more detail in this question.

He told you should collect caster gear for leveling now, if you want to rush it.

"FFXIV" The main status of the Red Mage is INT, equipment is found as the caster frame!
and more detail in this question.
Q: ─ ─ In the keynote lecture, there was a remark saying that the equipment of the samurai is also used as the equipment of the monk (striker frame?), But could you tell me which job will be the equipment of the red mage?

A: Yoshida Although I do not have much meaning to pull it, I will answer, but the red mage is the same INT frame as the caster. Those planning to play Red Mages think that you can smoothly start dash by collecting caster equipment (laugh).

Google translate seems to be improving, that was almost entirely understandable.

Posted in another thread, but here's the English notes: http://gamerescape.com/2017/03/01/ne...rview-summary/

Personally I'm rather relieved. It's a Caster. I know people wanted a melee DPS which wove spells in between slashes, but Samurai is going to be plenty melee DPS for us as is. It'll be good to have a proper new Caster.

It's worse for SAM and MNKs, being the first melees to have to share.

But that's wrong. Ninja and Monk were the first to share, even if they introduced Scouting gear almost immediately afterward. You still needed to share striking gear up to Ironworks/Demon/Dreadwyrm.

I'm glad actually, I like sharing gear between jobs because it saves me space and you can do some very interesting things when it comes to looks, therefore I really dislike job-specific gear!...

I hope Samurai shares gear with Monk, that would raise it's usefulness and I wouldn't leave them for last in the gearing order, I miss those sets from 2.X that could be shared by all melee DPS!...

No. NIN/MNK shared gear only up to 110 when the only current stuff you'd be lotting against other people was 130. And scouting gear wasn't "almost immediately afterward". It was same day.

    patch 2.4 notes: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...18d0d45bf52d59

At no point did NIN and MNK share gear that was current.

This is the first situation where a raid group with a MNK will not want a SAM and vice versa. Same goes for casters but you generally don't see raid groups seek out 2 casters, whereas melee generally occupy 2 spots out of 8.

RDM wore a few light armor pieces but a majority of their equipment were robes. In FFXI, their main gear was caster gear shared with GEO/BLM/WHM/SCH, while BLU wore more armor that fit with Rogue-like jobs (PUP/THF/DNC/NIN/BST/RNG). I would have bet my life that SAM would share Maiming gear, based on the fact that SAM in FF games usually wore heavy armor or middle weight armor. I know SAM wore light kimonos and stuff in town, but in battle their wore actual armor, so its odd they're on striking and not maiming.
