Losing sound randomly

Hiya

Recently I've noticed that my sound keeps dropping out randomly, then coming back just as randomly. Sometimes within seconds, other times minutes or longer. Is this a known issue? Is there a work around or fix for it?

EDIT: I should note that this is only happening in FFXIV. Everything else is perfectly fine. Thanks Risvertasashi for reminding me!

Oh yes, sorry, I should have stated that this is only happening in FFXIV. Everything else is fine. I'll edit my first post.

This has just started happening to me too since the most recent patch. It never happened before. It's a momentary loss of sound, maybe 5s at most & is completely irregular in occurrence.

It's happened to me a recently a few times. Only with FFXIV. I can Alt+Tab out and sound works fine in Windows and other programs, it just stops working in FFXIV. I've had to close FFXIV and reboot to get the sound back.

I'm not sure what causes it, it's often in the middle of a boss battle.

Yeah. Mine seems to happen at any time, doing any activity. It just happened now while I was crafting for the Moogle quests.
