Text style, in game Eorzean lore books

Is there any talk of this happening? Like an actual in game Encyclopedia Eorzea. There's already the housing item for it, even though it boasts its pages are blank. I know this is a personal feeling, but there could be so much more immersion in game if this could happen.

Since I didn't play ff11, or even 1.0 of ffxiv some of the lore gets lost on me. And lets be honest, sometimes cutscenes just don't cut it.

Just fill in the pages and let us all read about the awe and wonder that is the world of Final Fantasy!

No, that's not what I'm after at all. Just something along the lines of readable books. Could be based off the way orchestron rolls work, but instead of music, it would be lore about certain things or instances. More depth than the cutscenes could provide.

Id love this. It could be ingame faerie tales, stories from the war of magic, archeological studies, etc.

The gubal hard mode touched upon this, but id love ot see it fleshed out.

I think Koji mentioned it once. I believe he said he would love to have it happen but currently the tech doesn't exist in game to allow them to put in entries any longer than the small ones we see in Gubal Library. Since the tech would have to be made from scratch the demand would have to be sufficient for them to dedicate the UI team on creation of such a system over working on other things which are currently considered to have higher priority.

ohhh i'd love something like this too. but it shouldn't be a housing item, because then people without housing on high pop servers would be left out and we would see lots of complaints. we need something like an ingame database/codex for locations, monsters, events, etc.

like say you unlock the lore/info about a monster after you defeat them (or after a certain amount is killed), about a boss/trial/primal/raid after clearing it, events after clearing some msq/sidequests, etc.etc.

we already have something like this for locales/locations with the vistas/sightseeing so they could expand upon that

it doesnt even have to take inventory space tbh, they can also just expand the menu/ui of the sightseeing log into a full ingame lore book of sorts that we can fill out beyond locations/locales... and so yeah hopefully with the ps3 gone we would see something similar somewhere down the line of updates/expansions

and yeah like mogstation things and stuff, i noticed housing exclusive things are one of the sensitive topics in the forums so we need to be careful!!! :P

Imagine, after clearing gubal for the last time, it opens up as a mini-zone (with an aetheryte) with the goal to populate it with new books after the damage done to the place over time.
You could then visit it any time to sit down and read the books you've collected. '3'
