Can we please NOT be penalised if a party member leaves?

I'm getting really fed up with this happening. A player queues for Feast, then either goes completely AFK or leaves the duty as soon as the gates open (presumably because their friend is on the other team). If this happens we shouldn't be penalised for it.

This morning a Tank did this, yet we still managed to last over 7 minutes before being defeated. However because we were defeated my rating went down by 10. This was no fault of my own and I don't feel I deserve to be punished for something completely out of my control.

this is always the case when dealing with random people. you can't claim that people leave more often for you than they do for others. meaning the team who won, they have that happen to them sometimes too. the only way to get around random people is to form a static, which is part of mmo (queue with friends then you'll know who to blame)

The unfortunate problem with this is... If you make it have no penalty when someone leaves, there will be people that try to abuse that via having a friend leave if things aren't looking good so the others don't take a loss in rating.

Or if you see a incredibly good players on the other team compare to what you got you can leave without penalty of rating loss

My suggestion on a different thread:

Make it so the moment a player on any side of the teams leaves, that the game will automatically end in a draw. With the person who left getting the 30m penalty and rank loss.

It's not fair to either side to have their rank decided by jerks. Or bad unpredictable internet.

Yeah, except it also wouldn't be fair to be extremely far ahead, mere moments before game end and someone on the other team alt+f4s.

I want to say have a limit but trolls/griefers will always find a way..

Maybe limit the draw effect to time or medal requirement?

The safest, fairest way would be to always draw but I can see how it can be really annoying. At least you'd know the deserter got penalty and a 20-30 point rank reduction. So I say it's a win.

Could work the same way that league does, if someone dcs/afks early enough and there's been no kills in the game, that person takes the hit, everyone else gets the draw. Probably a loophole around that too though lol.
