The rest of your post was just a lot of "but I do it like this" and you have to realise that just because you do something its not the meta.

Commendations do mean something - but that something isnt "Hey, you're really good at this game!" but "Hey, I enjoyed playing with you (at least enough to klick your name in this list here)"
