So far we have been given conformation that we will have Summoner as a job so is there any chance we could have a cool looking carbuncle kind of like this one

This is the Carbuncle from XIII I remember when they first showed off the trailer showing summons I saw this thinking that this was gonna be a real summon but this Carbuncle model was never even used, "I don't think a cut scene counts" so maybe we could get something like this for FFXIV.

What do you guys think? And beyond carbuncle I wonder what summons we could get maybe Valefor, Ixion, Diabolos? I for one would love Siren :3.

that carby would be aussum... but i dont like his costume that much i think that summoner will receive carbuncle as a summon pet, because yoshida said something like that.

I'd love to see also fenrir as a summoner pet... i think he doesnt really fit into the role of a god as well.
i think ixion is a great idea too.

carby -> light element
fenrir -> dark element (anima would be aussum, but i dont think that SE will implement it)
Ixion -> thunder


Valefor -> Wind?


Phoenix-> Fire (although i think phoenix is a bit boring)


thats what it could be like... but i also would look forward to see non typical summons...
well but for me the summoner in FF14 wont be a "real" summoner.. a real summoner summons avatars like Shiva etc..

i think that the summons from the summoner will be more beast type and not human like.
what i think is boring... i dont want to be a "beast" summoner.. i want to summon Avatars like "Siren" for example as well, which are more human looking.



i hope that SE is not going just into the "beast" type direction for the summons.

Same here, since the more common summons like ifrit, shiva, titan, etc. will be for Free Companies only I would love to see some of the more less used summons for the summoner ones. I love the thought of phoenix since she could be a amazing Enhancing magic summon I can't really think of her in a DD stance.

It could also be cool to see the pantheon from XII like Ultima I know its not exactly something that would be a very common looking summon but I can't really think of any summon as to common since they are always a huge part of all the games.

To be honest, i'd be quite happy with the garuda concept art. Although im aware shes an esper battle, you can't deny she looks badass.

I'm all for the traditional summons:
-Shiva
-Bahamut
-Garuda

But would love for them to use Valefore again.

I'd also like them to take this chance to implement a new summon.

And preferably not use Alexander this time. He looks the same every time. A powerfull but dull looking summon.

The less mechanical the better, save that stuff for the Galbadians plzx.

Well at least Garuda and Shiva will be for sure more the primal "god" type ones which are worshiped by wild tribes. so they only will be summoned by public companies
