What is casual / hardcore player?

casual just wants everything handed to them. sure they might not have as much time as a hardcore player to work towards these things but dont cry and demand things to be easier so they can achieve the same goals as someone who puts in 10x more hours.

hardcore or casual everyone makes time to achieve personal goals they have in the game so if someone decides to put aside more hours than someone else they deserve more

Training in martial arts is considered hardcore because you need to train constantly in order to reap the rewards.
I guess martial artists have no life and no girlfriends.

That makes no sense. If you've ever done martial arts you'd know that there are people who only train an hour a day 3 time a week or so. People who just do it for fun or just to keep in shape. Would you consider them as "hardcore" who trains every day and travels and competes in tournaments? I know when i was doing those things I didn't have time to do much else.

Depend which woman, what you are saying doesn't make sense really. There are woman out there in their mid-20's loving games just as men does.

I mean I've known girls who prefer to play WoW rather than going outside. Who would refuse a dinner invite because "it's raid night". Who would refuse to go to bed before doing "their dailies". And don't say something like "I bet they were ugly" that's also a false statement.

You can be mid-20, cute and be a hardcore player. I won't even talk about professional players. I remember when attending the ESWC grand finals back in 2006-2007 when it was still held in Paris, most of the team members in Counter Strike Woman were actually... pretty attractive.

Outside of the internet, you are correct... personally, I call myself a technophile anyways, as gamer is synonymous with gambler in many parts of where I've been.

Yeah, no wonder why it's always the casual player complaining about not being able to get to endgame quickly...

Well, allow me to enlighten you.

Casual players don't normally participate in endgame. Leveling from 1 to endgame is the part they want to play.

If casual players do complain about the grind being too long, it's because they don't have the time to fall under the same spell as a hardcore player who hits all the Level Up reward pellets in a smaller time frame. Grinding is dull and tedious, and if the game (the part that happens before endgame) is mostly about grinding, then casual players are going to get bored because they'll go for longer periods without feeling rewarded for their progress.

It's not that they're in a rush to get to the endgame that they have no intention in participating in, it's that the journey there isn't satisfying.
