If you dominantly main two jobs of the same role (ie WHM and AST), how do you decide which job gets certain things first, like Relic weapon?
Also do have a preference of which you use for content? (example: PLD for Raid, but DRK for dungeons).

At least for me when it comes to this, usually I gear up whichever one in the role I leveled first, which is usually picked out by whichever job generally strikes my fancy in terms of both general playstyle and visual theme elements.
As far as preference go, usually it's whatever I feel like playing as far as dungeons and DF raids go. For pre-made raids, I normally try to play whatever no one else is in that group for the purposes of getting the most support options.
I main tanks, so logically I did my relic on DRG.
As content wise, I usually do harder stuff on DRK, I use warrior when I wanna go fast or if I'm doing a 24-man where there might be high chances of me not having to tank, and I use paladin if I wanna be lazy and let everyone else do the deeps or if is the 1st time I am running through a new piece of content.
I tend to use all of jobs there are except for SMN..
For gearing up purpose, i just let RNG decides what kind of gear pieces I'll get and i'll be gearing up the other jobs thru other means.. for example, I got myself sophia weapon for ast, so i got myself relic for scholar and shire crook for whm; relic for war, shire for drk, kinna for pld.
Content wise, i tend to go savage content with dragoon/scholar because the jobs are rather easy to get accustomed.. but i can go as any tanks, healers, monk or dragoon if needed..
For dungeons or other easy stuffs, i'm currently using warrior to get the light for the relic progress.
The downside is, i dont really have highly geared jobs because their gear ilvls are rather evenly distributed, which to some of my acquintance used to mock me for having awful ilvl..

Well Im lvling BLM to 60 first and get caught up with quests. AST will be my healer, and I've not decided on a tank main class, I want to have one of each to start. My BLM will be my main and the one that gets the gear first because I like the aesthetic and gameplay of it, so it's my favorite.
My co-mains are PLD and DRK. Gear tends to be easy as they share. Things like Anima... I literally flip a coin.
I tried that once. It landed on its side.....
For relics, I did SMN first just because I found it easier to do the fates for the starting version (and then learned I could do those fates on any job afterward). Then SCH because of a friend saying "oh, you should do SCH, you're really good at it". Currently working on the MCH one after it won a poll I ran with my FC (beat out BRD by a single vote). The last one I plan on doing is DRK because I felt like I needed a tank one and I already have the 230 relic for glamour purposes.
I mainly play WAR and BLM, but when it comes to gearing up I always go for tank so that I can properly queue for new dungeons right away AND I can easily join trials without having issues.
Being a dps is generally a chore as it requires you to have a group of people you know to do anything worthwhile and since I prefer to play alone I tend to gear up my BLM only when my tank is fully "ready". Infact I just now started to spend tomes on shire gear for BLM, giving her the 260 weapon.
For relic...well WAR is a tank. Tanks are always useful. Warriors are always useful. I go warrior by elimination process.
SMN and BLM. Summoner is for trying out the harder content and learning the mechanics. After I have some kind of idea where to stand and what to do, the training wheels come off and I switch to BLM. Unless I have to be running around 75% of the fight
Bling bling gear usually goes to BLM first and the gear melds are also BLM-friendly. Because raisins.
