The sealing spell is extremely aether costly, for the calamity Louisoux had to use the prayers of Eorzeans to the twelve to gain enough power for the sealing spell, he basically started a primal summoning using the prayers of the twelve to channel their power through tupsimati, for Baelsar's wall we didn't have that power readily available, so Papalymo uses the remaining power of Tupsimati and his own aether to finish the spell.

Read the actual DIALOGUE that was spoken, not just the journal summary. They quite specifically said he was sealed together inside with it. Furthermore, being "swallowed" does not imply he drained of his aether and killed like what happened with Moenbryda, it actually supports and confirms the fact he was sealed inside.

The whole reason that Yda was against him using the ritual is it drains the caster of all his Aether, including his life force. Its a ritual that kills the caster. The only reason that Louisoix survived when he tried it was because the original ritual failed. If he was just stuck inside the bubble she probably wouldn't be quite so despondently moping in the Twelveswood right now.

Nope. The reason she's "quite despondently moping" is because he's sealed inside. Or more accurately the simple fact he's not with her.

Seriously, I wish I could quote the dialogue that quite specifically states he sealed himself inside the cocoon with the primal to shut this crap down. Anyone know of a website that transcribes dialogue?

Nowhere in that text is even implied he was going to seal himself inside the cocoon.

The journal summary (which is as much canon as the dialog) uses two different terms for the person who was consumed by the spell and the entity sealed

He forbid Yda from staying because "her path cannot end here"

Urianger calls him a "fallen comrade"

Alphinaud asks to himself "how many more must we lose?"

Yda says "...It's over, Papalymo. It's all over..."

Allisaie says "To attempt such a magick requires every onze of one's aether. No one─not even Grandfather─could cast it and hope to survive..."

If you still think he's alive then by all means post your evidence that counters actual in game text, but drop the attitude.

I don't know if he's still alive or not. I just know that the dialogue after that cutscene that you linked specifically said Papalymo sealed himself inside with the primal. I would love to post the actual dialogue, but there aren't any transcripts for the dialogue in question and you can't replay regular dialogue with the book in an inn room for me to screenshot it.

Regardless of the fact I can't provide a screenshot, the claims that he's dead and "used up" from draining all his aether are just as unsubstantiated and uncorroborated. They are assumptions and false interpretations.

Please go and post where it "quite specifically states" he sealed himself, I've given you the tools, you can provide screenshots.

Your link doesn't include the conversation where they specifically state it. Your link doesn't include the full MSQ. And the previous link to transcripts only included a portion of the MSQ and at the top they have a disclaimer about leaving things out or rewording.

Once someone posts a video of the full MSQ (someone did it for 3.4, so they may for 3.5), then I will be happy to point it out for you.
