If you read all the dialogue in the MSQ, you'd find that they did indeed say he sealed himself inside with the primal.

Not sure. I think the power comes depending how much aether you can gather, not how much people whoship him (that's why Beast tribes always are storing as much crystals as can). Not sure if the few sacrifices Ildbert did is enough to summon something. But, the things is, if was necessary imprison him like Bahamut, it is in fact powerful. I guess he was gathering Aether crystals too? Or the Nidhogg eyes are enough for that because have the amount of aether necessary for summon. Who knows.

My guess is this will lead to the awakening of Omega by force and we will probably get to fight the creation first but only to weaken enough for Omega to take. Then Omega will probably fly off with all that power and then enters as our raid next expansion.

Not extremely grand for a story but it seems riddled with suspense for waiting and rivalry as well as traitorous intent.... so.... sorry I kinda of became tired just typing this

HW MSQ talk with Hraes indicates that none of the primals are the original entity. They're all just shades / the personification of the summoner's wishes.

Omega is the thing that bahamuts attack partially unburied under cartenau flats.
all that's really mentioned about it is it's a gigantic allagan war machine and the reason behind the 3 nations fighting over control of the area.

even if you go by lore in other games i think all you ever know is omega is some ultra powerful ancient war machine of unknown purpose

It could be Rhalgr. The latest patch added a title called "Rhalgr's Right Fist" and it could be a hint?

With the awakening of Omega, and the speech of Bahamut before the summoning, my bets are with the summon being Shinryu, a dragon that is known for being stronger than Bahamut and having links to Omega in it's original appearance.

The spell swallowed him the same way the blade of light swallowed Moenbryda, Papalymo is gone, he's not sealed, his life aether was spent creating the cocoon.

The sealing spell is extremely aether costly, for the calamity Louisoux had to use the prayers of Eorzeans to the twelve to gain enough power for the sealing spell, he basically started a primal summoning using the prayers of the twelve to channel their power through tupsimati, for Baelsar's wall we didn't have that power readily available, so Papalymo uses the remaining power of Tupsimati and his own aether to finish the spell.

If one eye was enough to break through a 'certain shield' and two were enough to transform a man into a Primal (who was powerful enough to warp reality in some way), I think it's safe to assume the eyes provide enough aether that matches an enormous amount of crystals that Beastmen wish that could have. All that's left is the worship of those praying to Rhalgr.

Except Saint Shiva. It don't have to be a god, only something enough people believe.
Because that is what a Primal is, all the wishes and believes of many that became physically with the help of aether.

    Yes
If I remember it right, begin aether to accumulate in the dragon eyes at the moment of his birth. The older the dragon, the more aether is in the eyes and the more powerfull is the dragon. And Niddhog was very old. The eyes are the source of the dragon's power.
