    This argument again. . . So the size of the content is proportional to how much attention or support it deserves? I'm sure crafters, gatherers, and raiders would all love to hear how their content is less important due to being the minority of the game. I'm all too aware that PvPers are an even smaller percentage of the game's community than even raiders, but if you can so easily write them off and say "this isn't your game", who's next after them? Because that's how you kill a game.

    If you actually played PvP, you'd know why.

    Along with increasing PvP currency rewards (for both wins and losses), SE finally made it possible to queue for matches without having to be tied to your GC. This was a restriction PvPers asked to be removed for 3 years, and they did so (if only due to future plans.) Launching the Garo event at the same time was a clever move as well.

    However! The same gear is slated to be made available for non PvPers via Gold Saucer soon. The difference is, it will not be dyeable. . . Keeping with previous points I made, if they'd offered these side by side -that is, you have the choice of competing for dyeable gear, or simply playing GS content (non competitive) - what do you think more people would have chosen in this "not PvP" game?
