That didn't stop John Carter from having children with Dejah Thoris...
I don't think so -_-

What keeps causing this specific thread to get necroed every three years exactly?
Seriously, it's uncanny, you can look.

New players come along, get curious, and have to ask.
For what it's worth it's a moot question; if you paid attention during Stormblood's MSQ while you're visiting the Dotharl one of the NPCs (name I forget) says something like "I'm sad my husband died in battle, but he got me pregnant before then, so maybe he'll be reincarnated in our baby. I can't wait to meet them and see if they're a reincarnation of someone I knew!"
Between that and the legend of the Hyur / Au Ra child, the idea is pretty uh... not supported. So I don't know why people have to ask all the time, when it's pretty obvious that in spite of their scales and tails Au Ra, er... reproduce the same way as every other Spoken race.
I'm 100% serious.

Keep in mind that all the playable races (and a couple more besides) were once a single species that only evolved apart after the sundering.
Just look at the character creator, every race you can play in FFXIV, including Au Ra shares mammalian anatomy (ears, navels, & more). egg-laying isnt really backed up by anything in the games design or lore.
Altough if they really could lay eggs, it wouldnt make much sense to me, because female Au Ra are really small compared to their male counterparts.
even if some animals exists, that can lay big eggs for their size like a Kiwi

I doubt they do. Even tho they have scales they are very much like normal people. So when giving birth it would be the normal way not an egg. Considering Humans can be with au ra i would imagine the organic composition of aura reproductive organs would literally benot reptile lol. Ok all jokes Yeah they give birth normally. No eggs but that would be funny hey honey I saw the bundle of joy you laid an egg
so your egg sitting to make sure it hatches into a perfect Midlander....omg.......O. o that means deep down everyone in ff14 who slept with auras and had kids are lizard people........
You open the door theres nothing in sight. You close the door wondering whats in sight. But lets be honest its probably gonna just let you down.

I recall this being a discussion in another thread, though I can't remember its name off the top of my head. Ultimately, Au Ra do not lay eggs. They may have scales, tails, and horns, but given that female Au Ra have breasts, this would imply that they are mammals and as such have live births.
While they do not have breasts there are the Monotremes that have mammary glands, are mammals, and still lay eggs so even though it is unlikely that Au Ra do we can't completely exclude it out of the realm of possibility.

Except for the Xaela Himaa clan's tribal quirk verbatim mentioning pregnancy, or Sadu's right hand woman Shar mentioning her husband got her pregnant before he died in battle.
The only reason to continue believing Au Ra lay eggs or might do so is because you want to; there is no evidence to support the hypothesis and enough to reject it. We are never going to get visible evidence in-game, so anecdotes will have to do.

It's been so long since Stormblood I had forgotten about those examples. I really wish there were more sources (whether from the game or materials like lore books) of information on all of the creatures and cultures of the game.Except for the Xaela Himaa clan's tribal quirk verbatim mentioning pregnancy, or Sadu's right hand woman Shar mentioning her husband got her pregnant before he died in battle.
