    Warrior Vs. Paladin in PVP

Since the pre-season is up and running and SE wants us to try out the new map, I spent some time yesterday running different classes in PVP to see what else I might like besides warrior. I got to thinking about paladin, since I have one at 50 and ditched it in favor of DRK for heavensward.

Since no one likes DRK in pvp, I was wondering about the pros/cons of paladin vs. warrior. Warrior's big focus is on damage, damage, damage - and mine varies wildly in a match - between 50k to 90k depending on group setup and lots of other factors. It feels like I cannot consistently hit those high numbers that WARs are known for. PVP is more reactive than proactive and you always find yourself adjusting to help your teammates.

That got me thinking about how paladin isn't focused as much on damage and more about protection. I like that idea a lot because I want my teammates to do their best. If you play a paladin in pvp - what do you like about it over warrior?

I think warriors are more single minded, there is very you can do to support your team. Pld is all team minded, as you cant really kill anyone. Warriors is about trying to get kills and pld is about trying to not let the other team kill any of your team members.

Warrior is better at soloq unless you really understand the game. For paladin to be effective you need to track you healers CDs, track the other teams burst, track your teams burst, track your teams lbs, etc.... On warrior you can just combo and it helps the team. Bad paladins are much less useful than bad warriors. At least a bad warrior can output 90k+ and have solid burst phases. A bad paladin makes the game a 3v4, if you are considering paladin make sure you have a firm understanding of the game and your role.

That being said, at the highest level of play paladin is super OP. Not that high level games happen that often.

Both WAR and PLD are more for single targets. PLD is great for constantly stopping casters, WAR I see it more for holding them down and interrupting. WAR is great for solo and PLD is team oriented in my opinion as well.

Ahh good to know. I suppose I will just stick to Warrior then and figure out how to push out more DPS. I'm not sure how to though -- I'm probably making it a lot harder than it needs to be.

PLD offers a ton of CC, protection and extra healing; but like you said, they're not the damage tank so you have to rely on your DPS to know and be able to execute their bursts. Your role during their burst (assuming the enemy healer hasn't been slept) is to CC that healer so your DPS can take out their target. During an enemy burst, you need to mitigate it via CC and shields and help out your healer with some clemencies and cover. Playing PLD; you'll need to have an awareness of enemy bursts and how to lock down those bursts as well as awareness for your own DPS's bursts. It's a completely different play style than WAR where it really is fairly single-minded. Although if you're playing war and aren't giving your healer peels, thrill and putting path up for DPS bursts you should start. The play style is very different and will take some time to get used to. If you're thinking about it seriously, get those 10 levels ASAP and run preseason to get an idea of how best you can support the team. Also be aware that some healers will require a LOT more help than others. When paired up with SCH, since they have almost NO CC abilities; you can expect to be sitting near them for most of the match. With a good WHM you'll rarely need to do much more than stun a WAR every now and then and can devote most of your time to locking down the enemy healer.

Why no one like DRK in pvp aha lol.

in 8v8 I go as MCH or DRK but ye 8v8 lol...

in 4v4 I go as WHM and I can tell you PLD is a lot more annoying than WAR, we could say WAR could practically 2 hit kill you..or 3.. and can interrupt your casts with those fell cleaves but it is easily countered, as for PLD.. omg pld is so annoying it stuns you, it silences you, it heavies you, it keeps hitting you while you're healing ur teammates and u wont even notice it u r at 60% or less hp somehow lol then u have to heal urself but it stuns u again so u bind him and omg it doesnt work coz tempered will op and etc.. lol that 2% hp hallowed ground OP

There is just one PLD and two DRKs in Chaos Top 100 with a massive number of WARs.

That's all you need to know about which job is better for solo. Party protection sounds good on paper, but in the end only kills decide the win, and PLD can't help much with that. Even stunlocking the healer is very unrealible to secure kills.
