Maybe for MP3s, but with notes, I think it would be ok.

i may have mis-understood, i thought OP wanted to be able to play songs off his playlist to others in the party, when he used bow/harp, that would against copyright rules if SE didn't pay a royaltyThere was no issue with bell commands in FFXI lol.

What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.
YeahI was talking about using notes to make your own tunes, I think that would be fine.

Maybe make a minigame from playing songs. Have 2 modes, one being auto and the other one manual ( like hasty hand and standard synthesis in crafting)
Manual version makes you input a few commands (music notes) while you are casting , correct input and timing makes the song stronger.
If the input is wrong or there is no input at all (hasty hand), the song is normal strength
Extending Renshi's idea: have 3 sets of commands in different colours which appear on the screen.
Theres a red , green and blue sets of commands. Red would be the melody and green/blue the harmony. You can go for red for +1 , red/green or red/blue for +2, red/green/blue for +3. Or just ignore them completely for NQ
Edit: Maybe even doublecast songs...? Just spewing ideas.
