Please change Maintenance times, it always cuts through Oceanic prime time.

I know this will fall on deaf ears because the scheduling of the maintenance doesn't really effect US and EU players (6am-10am EU is not a big deal) but for players in Oceanic time zone this has been a problem since day 1.

Maintenance is always 7pm til late, this cuts right through Oceanic prime time for both Australia and New Zealand. I'm sick and tired of coming home from work and unable to play every 2-3 days because there's maintenance.

I understand maintenance needs to happen and I fully support the reasons behind it, but surely you can shift the maintenance schedule a little? Not only do Oceanic players not have regional servers, we also pay more because of currency exchange reasons. The least you could do is support us in this regard?

Doesn't it make more sense to bump the hours ahead by just a tad?

Other MMORPG's have worked out the best hours so the least amount of people are affected, it seems for FFXIV they only took EU and NA in regard and didn't care about the rest?

2. NZ players are getting ready to sleep (3AM PST is 12AM NZT)
3. EU players are mostly at work or school (12PM GMT)

This would benefit everyone... and effect the least amount of people, why constantly shaft the same playerbase every single time? we are paying customers too, or do people not care about the minority?

I'd appreciate if this was forwarded to the engineering team and development team for their consideration.

You forgot to mention that 3AM PST is 8PM JST. This would cut into their primetime. Unfortunately no matter when they have maintenance someone is always going to be screwed. One of the best options they could do is to have times rotate so it's not the same people all the time losing play time. Yes, it would be annoying, but it wouldn't be too terrible losing 1 day a month vs 1 day a week/every other week like some people deal with.

Aside from cutting into their primetime, I'm pretty sure that would also be considered pretty late for them to work at. As it currently stands maint would usually be done by 7 PM if its actually done at the scheduled time, and usually it seems to be done early with said stated end time being a there in case problems occur.

When they were changing weekly reset time they said they'll do it when servers have the least activity to lower stress. So that would be a good time for maintenance. It should also be much shorter, many modern MMOs do updates seamelssly, they just ask to relogin and that's it.

I'm pretty sure they did look at how many people would be affected in each of the potential maintenance windows. Australia and New Zealand have less than thirty million people between them, which is a tiny amount compared to the US, EU and eastern Asia. This is also probably the reason the Oceanic region does not have its own servers - they likely cannot justify the cost based on the number of subscriptions in the area.

Maintenance time it's simply during work time at Japan, to allow SE dev/sys admin to make the maintenance.

So, I think no chance to see thaht thing change.

What are you on about? Out of every MMO in existence FFXIV has the most Aussie friendly maintenance times of all. Maintenance finishes at 6pm (usually earlier) Perth GMT+8 time. That's 9pm in Sydney with daylight savings, which ends soon, so 8pm. In every other MMO we've always been at the mercy of maintenance being done for the convenience of US players, which did run right through our prime time till early morning. I don't know where your getting 7pm till late from.

Although I do agree given we pay the most for a sub, we don't get the same value in return per dollar.

No matter how they adjust maintenance times there will always be someone cut throuugh prime time:

Europe is at UTC - UTC+1
Japan and Australia at UTC+8 to UTC+10
East coast at UTC-5
Pacific at UTC-8

it's impossible to get a good time for everyone, and one that will be reasonable for Japan.

I think I have a solution though: add more timezones
