I didn't mind the fight at all, mostly because it felt a lot like Steps of Faith when that came out in 2.55, where it seemed like just as much of a trial as it did a developmental experiment to test out new technical and gameplay elements. Also like Steps of Faith, it showed a fine line in difficulty where good groups found it nearly a trifle and worse groups screaming "OMGPLZNERF".
This game is just a premium chat room to some people as long as they can ERP and get glamour they'll gladly get that pesky gameplay over and done with ASAP.
People are so willing to accept mediocrity in this game.
Just tell "The Wandering Minstrel" about Proto-Ultima and i am sure he will sing you a ballad that satisfy your needs...
Oh my god you poor unfortunate soul. *PATS*
I thought it was just slightly disappointing that a WEAPON got relegated to trash pull, but at the same time I'm glad they're at least giving casual players more options to mix and match their gear if they don't do Savage. It also gave me the option to get a 270 healing ring that isn't the Tome one, and now my SS and Crit are both at a healthy 900![]()
I've actually expected, that after I've seen that "story-mode" ultima, I'd go to minstrel, and will unlock the 24-man trial (a normal fight that lasts more than 1-2 minutes, with phases, etc).
I really do not know some of the outrage some have had, not like we do not have Succubus or Succubus like enemies elsewhere...
I am fine with it, even though it is uber easy i still kind of like it.
Proto-Ultima isn't easy to finish and it is possible to wipe. I think it's of decent quality and I'm fine with where they placed it for the most part.
It's litteraly easier than the succubus fight it replaced tho. Unlike with the succubus, were you could (should) only wipe because of being stupid or having utter crap luck. In the Proto fight, I think you actually have to TRY to wipe to fail the encounter. Almost all the damage he throws around only tickles the dps even.
