Why even play this game at all?I don't get your argument, you can use "As it's another 'weekly' thing now I just want to end it fast and leave the instance as soon as possble." and apply it to the entire game.
Why have us take more than 1 minute to cap weekly tomes? It saves a lot of time in the long run!
Why have dun scaith itself take more than 1 minute to clear? It saves a lot of time in the long run!
Why have raid fights take more than 1 minute to clear? It saves a lot of time in the long run!
It makes me question if you're really enjoying the game or playing just because "it's another thing to do", a game where you do a fight for 1 minute and get rewarded might as well be "push this button to win".

This was done to keep people doing Dun Scath for the forseeable future.
They could have provided the accessory tokens for Dun Scath without including Proto Ultima and made it a true 24 player trial with other rewards. This was done to put the fight in the game where it would have relevance beyond a month like odin. Unfortunately in so doing, they ended up further eroding the value of the game in favor of attempting to appease casual gamers that would have been unable to clear it until they could unsync it in 4.0 had it been a difficult trial. I foresee a lot more content dumb-downed like this in order to capture a wider audience just as they did by providing a casual 8-player raid for heavensward. Hell, they've even said as much in the changes they plan on making to the battle system - make it easier to perform your rotations, get rid of skills that a lot of players don't use etc.
I don't think it's great, but I don't think it's as bad as people make it out to be. It's just.....there. In a few weeks no one will care.
I'm fine with it too. It was a really fun fight.
Welp fought it twice (& still didn't get a drop for my MNK -_-) & gona say its an okay fight, its easyer-ish then Succubi but I found she had 1 "hard" mechanic that said "do this to wrong u'r all dead, maybe" (the big purple AoE's after everyone gets entranced) I mean yes if u dodge "Every" AoE & burn down the adds it spawns u'r golden especially if u'r using u'r uber-near-max-ilv-end-game Class (& everyone else is) but out of my 2 fights I saw a whole 8-man team worth of people die to it... on 2nd run a whole team died... so it is can be as hard or harder than the Succubi was just depends on ilv & player skill
Personally feal like this is a Prelude fight that & SE "may" have something for later... maybe... hopefully
What some see as "distracted" is really "fathoming the unfathomable" - last words from an Ul'dahn Mercurial Chemister at the battle of Carteneau

Why are you talking about Proto-Ultima as if he were the Ultima Weapon in the MSQ? He's not.ya and that silly ferdiad has more hp than....Ultima Weapon....sorry but wut?
Ultima Weapon was made to fight primals, and it annihilates Ifrit/Garuda/Titan, while Diabolos is way tougher than Proto. Even Deathgaze is tougher than Proto....it's comparable to a SUCCUBUS!!! it's ridiculous.
Since it gives you weekly 270 accessories, it needs to be comparable to the other bosses - not to mention EVERY RAID MEMBER gets a token.
♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥
Did it today and it's really fun. The fact that our aliance got completely slaughtered on the first try made me like it even more. (we returned the favor on the second try though)
To me way more fun than the Sukkubu or w/e that thing is called![]()

Honestly, I read the interview front, back and sideways and I never got the feeling PU was going to be it's own instanted fight.
It was NOT going to be like Odin, with its own instance but it would be a 24 man instance, as Yoshi P stated. Going by this, it would be easy enough to conclude it would be added into an existing 24 man raid, which is exactly how it happened. People misinterpreted this information or twisted it to suit their own needs. Either that or they saw, "it was just like Odin" and their brains just stopped reading at that point.
The fight itself was easy but considering that it's a prototype of Ultima, a generally lack luster fight itself, I can't really be disappointed that he was easy at all

Wait, slaughtered? How is that even possible? I came home the morning of patch day and did this first thing and we killed it super easily. I do not know how you can get slaughtered in this fight.
