What is up with this toxic community

I have been playing this game since the very beginning and one thing that always stood out was how wonderful the community has been. In the last several months though I\\'m not exactly sure what is going on but the amount of people I have had to blist or had just such an awful experience with has multiplied monumentally. What in the world has happened that has caused so many people to just become absolutely rude, inconsiderate, hateful and the list could go on? Now, I\\'m not talking about the entire community but the amount of toxic attitudes is almost WoW worthy and honestly I\\'m getting sick of it. I know not everyone has great days and some times I get pissed off and say things I end up regretting but it\\'s not out of malice like what iv been seeing

One other thing that has been bugging me is this constant need to pull till I reach a door or some barrier and then just AoE everything. I understand people would rather go quicker i to would like quick but C'mon.. baelsars very first pull and tanks just running straight to the door and no one focuses on archers and we all die.. a healers dream let me tell you. Guess who's fault it ends up being??

Its the way the game is being catered. The player base if very different from the 1.0 days. God I miss those days!

I've come across toxic people too, but I'm not gonna let them ruin my fun and love for this MMO.

My experience is that WoW and FFXIV communities have always been pretty alike, XIV's just way more heavily censored/moderated so you don't see it as much.

Wildstar actually has the best community out of any game I've ever played, go figure. I'm guessing the small size has a lot to do proportionally with how many jerkwads you encounter at any given time in a given MMO.

As for the "speedruns", they are not expected in the Duty Finder. For the 1st pull in BW specifically, if I'm healing the tank knows (or will learn the hard way) that until I get a Holy out they will get no heals. If the archers are not packed with the rest of the pull, that's 100% the tank's fault.

Hate to say it but I've been seeing a lot of WoW players heading over to FFXIV these days. I guess most were Elder Scrolls fans and hate how ESO is not a traditional Elder Scrolls game, so WoW's only other competition in the MMO market is FFXIV. A lot of them cannot for the life of them stand the 2.5 second global cooldown, and it makes for very impatient, very irritable players.

There's also been a rather disturbing split between Healers & Tanks, and DPS these days because of Stormblood's announced classes. I've actually run across a few Healers in DF who start a run with, "DPS better pay attention cause I'm not healing you at all this run." Granted those healers usually get kicked when we hit a boss with unavoidable damage.

I have also noticed that it seems a lot of the complaints and toxic attitudes seem to come from ex WoW players, they seem to try and compair this game to WoW and how things should be done differently like in WoW.

I remember one person in particular here that always made it sound like they just wanted FFXIV to be a WoW clone more so than it already is. Why leave one game because it's crap and then come to another only to demand it be like the game you left?

Maybe it cause I'm on Balmung but I have never found there to be a "wonderful community", but then again Balmung does have it reputation for a reason.
