But ah, that good ol' charity fallacy. I don't owe SE money for the sake of it existing. They have to deserve it. MY wallet is not a charity, either.

You seem to continually forget that SE isn't a charity. They provide services and content for your sub. Access to every cosmetic in the game was never part of the sub deal.

By making excuses for Square-Enix (or any company) to add more content outside of the sub, you're actively devaluing how much your subcost is. You're saying, "My 15 (or 12) dollars isn't enough. You deserve more money." To the far extreme, this develops MMOs like Star Wars the Old Republic, where all of the good looking armors are in gambling boxes purchased with real money -- including armors that existed before the gambling boxes did, which were taken out of the game so that you can only get them by gambling.
