They aren't correctly incentivizing, however, as I refuse to purchase things for such a poor value.
But ah, that good ol' charity fallacy. I don't owe SE money for the sake of it existing. They have to deserve it. MY wallet is not a charity, either.
Don't use the word fallacy when you don't know how to use it correctly. A fallacy is an invalid/illogical response in argument. When I said that SE isn't a charity and that they don't owe you anything beyond providing server access and monthly content, that there is nothing fallacious about that statement. It's pure fact. You, on the other hand, provide plenty of invalid statements here, such as "owing money to SE for the sake of existing"... that's false and hyperbolic.
And yes, they are correctly incentivizing because you want the item so badly to the point that you're willing to spend hours a day attempting to argue why you should get it for free.
It is a fallacy when it's being used to assert that companies have carte blanche to do whatever they want just because it will earn them money. The fact is they do NOT, because we as customers have every right to criticize them for actions we do not see as beneficial to us. We customers are not simply here to serve as good little girls and boys who open our wallets at every whim of the company because ~*they're just trying to make money*~. So I am not going to shut up and I'm not going to stop calling out SE for what I see as harmful business practices that take away value from the base game in exchange for cash-grabbing, over-priced mogstation items.
Lol at your last line though.
Hyperbolic. And I never said anything of the sort.
You're right. You're free to criticize if you want. And you are completely within your rights not to make a purchase of something. No one is forcing you.The fact is they do NOT, because we as customers have every right to criticize them for actions we do not see as beneficial to us. We customers are not simply here to serve as good little girls and boys who open our wallets at every whim of the company because ~*they're just trying to make money*~.
However, what you're doing is claiming you are entitled to some specific items being offered because you pay a subscription fee. That is objectively false and continue to not understand.
Your sub entitles you to server access and monthly content updates. That's it. You've continued to make the claim that you're entitled to the emotes "just because". You're not entitled to them anymore more than you're entitled to the mounts or character-specific glamour items. If you want them, buy them, don't complain that you should get them for free.
No, there is something of a 'social contract' that is rather assumed when you pay a monthly subscription fee that certain things will not be done. gouging *paying* customers in a cash shop is one of those things.Your sub entitles you to server access and monthly content updates. That's it. You've continued to make the claim that you're entitled to the emotes "just because". You're not entitled to them anymore more than you're entitled to the mounts or character-specific glamour items. If you want them, buy them, don't complain that you should get them for free.
Explain "gouging paying customers". While I do think that the emotes are too expensive for what you're getting (and is the reason I'm not buying them), my sub does not entitle me to them, so I'm not a paying customer in respect to those emotes.
I've explained it already in at least two posts above.
You are a paying customer since you see those emotes in the game you pay a monthly fee to play. Note that I am not arguing the Cash shop should close and everything be covered by the sub, but I am, and will continue to argue, that charging such prices for something like an emote on a *single* character is gouging paying customers. You can glibly deny that and throw your money at SE all you want, that's your privilege, just as mine is to point out what I consider to be true. Gouging is gouging.
Screw the emotes. Our sub entitles us to monthly content. So we say that monthly content is lacking, then what. I 100% do not want the emotes.
I object to the current quality of the game. The current pricing structure for monthly subs. The current inability to provide a unified gaming experience across all servers. The fact that decisions (actual game play) seem to be changed based on the idea of making more money. Someone fantasias what ever. Dev team goes back on word about gating then says down the road will be able to skip for cash, not whatever.
While you may not see the emotes and this as related I do. It is a company mandate to milk player base over providing content.
This is apt.
By making excuses for Square-Enix (or any company) to add more content outside of the sub, you're actively devaluing how much your subcost is. You're saying, "My 15 (or 12) dollars isn't enough. You deserve more money." To the far extreme, this develops MMOs like Star Wars the Old Republic, where all of the good looking armors are in gambling boxes purchased with real money -- including armors that existed before the gambling boxes did, which were taken out of the game so that you can only get them by gambling.
But if you do the math its not enough not even close to enough so what are you saying exactly show me a popular mmo witout a cash shop, show me one that makes money off of sub payment only. You guys are being delusional this game wants to be at the top just like Im sure any other game does a mere 15 dollar sub a month isnt going to do that you no what does people like someone said earlier they spent 900 dollars on the mog station stop blaminig the company and see that people have the choice to buy these items. 15 dollars is cheap for all the content thats in this game, could the emotes be cheaper sure but they dont have to be because people still buy them for seven dollars.
