Oh please don't go there, those game would/still be worked on and released. No one at SE sitting around going well if no one buys from the XIV cash shop we can't do these others games.

You have it backwards. Our subs + buying FFXIV funded those, just like previous SE titles funded FFXIV. All of the money from game sales and mmo subs (both XIV and XI) circulate back into SE and fund the different development teams/utility bills/paychecks,etc.
The money from the Mog Station sales goes directly to the XIV devs. That's why they introduced it in the first place.

I'm not against a cash shop, but it's always been a bit of a delicate balance. Right now, and for a while, that balance has felt a bit off. I mean, we have to pay, on top of a subscription, for a "play dead" emote and Dark Red/Blue dye.

i wonder how long it will be before thay put a gachapon or a form of 'cubing' in the game :/
I will never put one cent in the cash shop besides my sub an expansions.
An the reason why they keep adding exclusive to cash shop is because people are buying...
To me..I don't know... I prefer to go out an eat that money or use it in something else.
I hope they implement a better vet reward system to replace the outgoing one. Depending on how loyal you are, you are paying $30-45 in 3 months (wow that is almost the cost of the base version of the new expansion), some of it for upkeep, maintenance and access and some for investing into future content. (A major patch every 3 months) The last vet reward they added is 360 days, up from 120 days. An entire year. Some of this stuff they are adding to the cash shop could have been a vet reward buffer.
If you pay just the month and unsub (it would cost $10-15 to access each patch) it seems more reasonable, but if you are paying constantly and don't lapse I can see why people might see things in the cash shop as greedy when there is quite an investment already over a 3 month period. Items being single character only just makes it worse.
Well for me it cheaper to pay (like $90 every 6 months) so equals to like $12.99 sub + $2 for 1 extra retainer per month which is cheaper then buying a new game for $60 every month or even say a older game at $30 a month. But as you said people that pay every month and play more get better value cause sub mmos not really meant to be played sporadically as the f2p mmos usually fill those needs. If you pay just the month and unsub (it would cost $10-15 to access each patch) it seems more reasonable, but if you are paying constantly and don't lapse I can see why people might see things in the cash shop as greedy when there is quite an investment already over a 3 month period. Items being single character only just makes it worse.
It has nothing to do with our sub fee being enough or not. SE tested the waters and found out that people are willing to pay for extra stuff from the Mog Station. Even if this game had 11 million active subscribers, they would still sell items on the Mog Station, because there is a demand for them.I can understand putting past events items on mog station, but new emote/glamour/mount that goes straight to mogstation while not giving active sub a chance to obtain them in game is just pure greed, and whats even worst is that most item are solely single character, or if u have alt or future alt u will have to buy it again.
This does not mean that I am oke with them adding emotes to the Mog Station instead of ingame, it is still something that we can not change. Aslong as there is a demand from players to buy stuff from the Mog Station, SE will make them and sell it. SE would be a fool to not take advantage of this.
