Does it get any better?

I just bought the game a week or two ago. 55 BLM atm. Anyways, so I have played many mmo's (wow/swtor/ aion +tons of other korean mmos) for like probably 15 years. I know the sample size is small, but in no other mmo than ff14 have I met people who whine in lowbie dungeons about the way you play. I just perma constant pull cause I want to speed up the run and not have down time. I've been kicked several times cause "I'm being stupid". Mind you, the people who actually kick me don't have sprouts. It's not like they're learning the game, making it hard for a first time healer to heal me through taking aggro or something. It has always been kids with multiple 60's complaining.

If they were able to hold a dialogue to come to an understanding, I'd be okay with the situation. But these kids can't take any words whatsoever that go against their style of play. Even just explaining "Hey, we haven't died yet, we're fine, just trying to save time" results in kicks.

Only in ff14 so far. As much as I've enjoyed playing ff14 otherwise, I've never gotten annoyed by a community this early, making me consider trying out another mmo.

Pulling as a DD is generally considered harassing your party, since it makes it much harder for everyone else (and is not likely to speed things up if you're messing up the pulls).

If your not the tank, don't pull. Pretty much been the motto I have lived by even in WoW years ago.

Pretty sure in WoW people kick for pulling mobs/bosses as DPS.

You would be better off to ask for large pulls at the beginning. When you do pulls as a DD you are hurting the entire party, not helping. When you pull adds the tank has to react to the adds who are going to attack the healer who in turn has to heal themselves, the tank, and you from your pull.

Some use this as harassment, because in a small way it is, especially if they tell you to stop and you keep doing it.

If you tried tanking or healing in the game for a dungeon or two and saw a DD doing what you are doing then perhaps you would understand the effect of your actions.

Speedrunning is more a thing in later dungeons, yes.

BUT - take a look at your own attitude here, please... if you pull as a dps because the run isnt going your way, you deserve a kick anytime. Play a tank if you want to dictate the pace of a dungeon, please. And dont come here whining because people dont play the way you want them to play - because thats what you're doing here.
You're not being stupid btw, just a jerk - if you want to speedrun leveling dungeons look for people you can do that with...

Ever tired communicating with your teammates instead of just ignoring that they're there and playing the game your way? Because thats excatly what you're doing when you pull instead of letting the tank handle that.
I've never played an MMO beside this one, so I cant tell if its any different - but here is what you should take away from this: Dont pull as dps in ff14, easy as that.

I think OP is having a problem because in WoW and other games people kinda steamroll leveling dungeons so he wouldn't get kicked necessarily. In FFXIV the level sync makes it a bit harder to do so most people will avoid doing so outside of the level cap dungeons.

Oh look, another one of these threads again. Don't do stupid stuff and then play the victim card when people inevitably get pissed off with you.

"I play how how want" is most definitely an attitude that will get you kicked - mainly because "how you want to play" is most likely going to be stupid.
