Only 2/5 Endgame content currently viable, why?

Who said we HAD to use the word endgame though? It's just a word to represent content at max level. We could call it H981hmc for all I care. I realize I started the thread with the word "endgame" but that's because it's just a popular buzzword for content at the max level of a MMO. In XI hitting 75 was just the start. There was still so much to explore, so much to do, story missions, all kinds of things. All I'm saying, is that because we have nothing to explore until 2.0, and we don't have that huge variety of endgame until 2.0, that they just "give something for people at max level to do, challenges to overcome, some way of seperating those who put forth a great deal of skill and effort into the game and those that just like to play casually." I guess that's my definition of "endgame," but I'm not engrossed with the word, it was just a way of getting my point across. Now this might lead to an argument of "casual gamers should be able to get the same gear as hardcore gamers," but that's not what the thread is about, so please don't send it that way. All I'm asking is to make the existing content viable so that new Linkshells, and new people CAN have new journey's and experiences AND feel like they're working toward something.

Because you used the word in the title of your thread.

It's not just semantics. The point is that FFXIV is NOT at endgame because there is so much content that they have not even released. Therefore your question about more content is invalid.

They are releasing more content before 2.0. Maybe you missed the whole "Current FFXIV and New FFXIV will merge!
Current FFXIV and New FFXIV has different structure but it doesn’t mean it’s a different product. Current ongoing FFXIV will continue to be repaired and will be involved with the up coming catastrophe. The catastrophe will run throughout the year and once the catastrophe is passed the current FFXIV will merge with the new FFXIV. After that you will not be able to go back to the pre-catastrophe world of Eorzea. So only those that can experience this one time scenario will be those currently continuing FFXIV service. Lets all look at how the world will change.

What are you talking about viability for anyway. Noobs can explore the same {stuff} everyone else did.

Semantics is relevant if you are invalidating or disproving someone's argument. It is also valid concerning someone's complaint. Maybe next time you should use H981hmc because then no one will read it.
