So, it would be fair to say that Naxxramas 40-man was never endgame, then? Since Blizzard hadn't even released, like, five of the playable races or two of the playable classes at that point. . .
^ weren't people spending all their time arguing that its not at 50% when it came to the topic of paying? people kept saying that was an old statement and that apparently when they start charging it will be where they want it (aka 100% because of the search and MW features)
funny how that turns around....
...Where the hell did be bring up religion? What am I supposed to do now that I'm at 50? How is this not endgame? Are you telling me that leveling every job to 50 and then doing nothing with them is what I'm supposed to find fun? 2/5 are worth doing(MORE THAN ONCE) I don't understand how you can even deny that, it's not opinion, it's evidence in numbers via the stats on the gear and what they lack to offer in terms of any sort of latent ability or unique trait. Are you really going to tell me that there is no "endgame" right now? That Ifrit is just for leveling from 45-50? That when the devs were thinking up Ifrit, they thought "Man, this a great way for people to level to 50! We'll even make the weapon he drops for level 50's only so that they can equip it while they continue to fight him over and over!... oh, wait."?You can keep your religious comments to yourself.
It is truly amazing how many people on these forums attempt to invoke ad hominem attacks upon others to support their argument.
You cannot compare FFXIV to other endgame when they haven't even released advanced jobs yet. Why don't you compare it to Everquest '03 when the level cap was 50?
The OP was trying to say that he is bored because he just got one job to 50 and he thinks that he's at endgame and 2/5 are worth doing.
I disagree.
I think it was the "Jesus Christ" exclamation that he's considering a religious comment. I'll just be nice and keep my thoughts on that to myself....Where the hell did be bring up religion? Anyway, I could conceivably see people calling DD leveling content once the cap is raised. Until then, though, it's endgame. Ifrit (and the other primals) will only ever be endgame or "old endgame."
Great Buffalo NM drops parts of weapons that are still decent. There are other examples that I could cite, but that's 1/5.
There is an NM in Ug'morro mines that drop decent loot and is challenging. That's another 1/5. I disagree that only 2/5 are fun or viable.
There are Leve evaluations and FNMs that are fun which are not included in your 5.
You don't get XP off of Ifrit.
My point is that the state of FFXIV has so much content planned for the near future that your complaint really does not have merit and is not comparable to other extant endgame in other MMOs.
I'll grant that the Barbarian Bardiche might still be a viable weapon, but that's the last of the NMs I'd've chosen to say was viable. I'd've started with Ureaus and Dodore, since both pieces of their gear are easier to get and less questionably better, if I'm not mistaken.Great Buffalo NM drops parts of weapons that are still decent. I'm pretty sure the OP was counting Strongholds as one of their two that were viable.
Leve evaluations are just r40 leves with a bonus, and FNMs are only fun to do once. In fact, if you want to get the most out of your leve evaluation, you won't do the FNMs, because it's more rewarding to do a different set of faction leves instead.
XP isn't in the realm of endgame. Endgame is what you do after you've already leveled. . . >_>
DD is something I'd be interested in running once, but that I would stop doing as soon as I beat Batty.
I only mentioned that you get no XP off of fighting Ifrit because the OP asked if the purpose of fighting Iftrit was to level from 45-50.
It just sounded like he/she/it is one of those people who sit in linkshell and say: "I'm bored". I guess we shouldn't expect more out of someone who only has 50 CNJ.
Batraal has lots of good gear. It is definitely a fun fight.

If Batraal has "lots of good gear" why do I never see anyone shouting for it?I only mentioned that you get no XP off of fighting Ifrit because the OP asked if the purpose of fighting Iftrit was to level from 45-50.

He does? You do remember that when the fight came out, there was a lot of debate as to whether or not his gear was even better than +2 gear that already existed? As I recall the only clear winner was for MRD tanks, because the Canopus Bill had the most Parry of any weapon at the time; but that's no longer true, either. And, of course, materia makes crafted gear the undeniable winner.
I will grant it's a fun fight, but people don't do old content just because it was a fun fight if there's new content that is also fun and has better rewards.
