I like the return of the stat system cause with how pgl is gonna work I currently have 300+ str i can make use of those bonus point to use towards int, cause i now know its gonna be important for pgl now instead of reworking all of my gear.

well its going to happen everyone is going to stack one stat no matter how many they give us.Stats should mean something. If a level 30 lancer is getting +4 str from leveling up to 31, then how does it make sense to allow him to spend 3 more points of his choice on str? Players will end up stacking a single stat until 50, and stats will be the same mishmash system they were before. It wont matter if you have +20 str or +20 attack power on your lance because you'll have so much str piled up it wont affect return at all.
From a game design perspective i think your right.
How much depth is it adding vs How much more complicated your making the system?
Are people going to use str to manipulate the attack potency of mages? Isn't the armory system supposed to govern that anyway? Does anyone else actually gain any affinity towards they're characters by putting points into stats with effects that aren't easy to measure?
I'm going to wait to see it implemented before i get all flustered, but I can see why people get upset when SE announces updates like this and expects us to blindly swallow it without additional information.
Are they trying to make the game so complicated so its easier to adjust for imbalances?
Or are they truly delusional enough to believe that adding points into things is going to affect my personal reflection of my characters individuality that make up roughly 1/3 of my characters total potential, LESS if you include skills?
The answer to this is either a really brilliant one and it'll make sense once everything's implemented or SE is just mashing ideas into a mixing pot and hoping a good game pops out.
I enjoy seeing these topics on the forums though, they're throwing out a lot of ideas with no real explanation, as to why they're in the game and what function they're going to serve in the future.
I'd like for our stats to be fully custom.
I'd like for the stats conversation to be clear. Like 2 str = 1 atk.
I'd like for stats to have a noticeable impact on gameplay.
I'd like for stats to be distributed automatically if one does not wish to distribute it himself.
Wow.
Didn't know that choosing a few points to distribute between the basic stats required a college degree or something.
Come on, you have better arguments to make other than "it's making the game too complicated."
