Nbut because of that people get this notion that anything SMN gets SCH should be equally entitled to it, when for all intents and purposes they meant to be treated as separate Jobs with their own respective features

I think that all "pet jobs" should be entitled to this "pet system". I'm not lumping SCH with SMN because it branches off ACN, im lumping it with it because they introduced a pet glamour system and SCH has pets. Its also not about fairness for me, it is about utilising this system (that a fair few resources went into) to its fullest potential.

No-one brings up MCH because despite having a Pet system it's recognised as a separate Job with its own identity.

See, now I thought no one brought up MCH as a pet job because turrets are throwaway tools with less damage and interaction than SMN pets and no means of role improvement via micromanagement like what you find with SMN and SCH.

That being said, turret glamours would be pretty cool for 6.0 to make them look like garlean magitek bits.

While the Pet system works for SCH (since it had to compensate for SCH's limited healer kit in ARR), the height of SMN pet interaction to this day is still keeping the only pet worth using (Garuda) on Obey so it doesn't blow through the only CD you care about (Contagion) at inopportune times.

At least MCHs can swap between their Pets depending on the situation (ST vs AOE) without any cost to their resources, all on top of providing offensive and supportive utility to the party (Hypercharge, Promotion). If SMN's Pets were closer to MCH's system it would be a vast improvement to the Egi system by far.

Although that would be true, I'm not sure SMN would be given that much more on the support side since having Resurrection as a DPS can easily tip scales when some fights go south. Hopefully that can change in Stormblood though.

I think people are forgetting:

Lilly, our fairy, has a distinct personality, unlike most other fairies conjured by other scholars. We'd have to ask her if she wants to change her appearance.

Well, we already have the Anima story line in which we create a living being, giving it a distinct personality of it's own and then it asks us to push it to it's limits because it wants to make itself useful (Referenced in the quest line, as well as in Ardashir's Journal). We even go as far as giving it it's own body (In the form of the minion) aside from it's physical appearance as a weapon.

Not to mention previously the Nymians originally used the Fae as nothing more than messengers before they found out that the Fae were capable of doing much, much more (Referenced in the Scholar entry in the Lore Book), so that could lend some beleivability that even the Fae don't entirely mind as long as they're being useful to the Scholar. ^^

That's something that the devs can resolve for the Single Player Lore vacuum for the WoL.

For those of us whose characters exist outside of the Single Player Lore Vacuum, Roleplayers (Like myself) and even people who want to the characters to be their own, whose characters aren't the Warrior of Light, whose characters wouldn't make sense to all have Lilly as their patron Fae, and due to the lore, wouldn't make sense to all be Scholars despite a shed load of caches from Nym being shaken loose during the Calamity. Being able to have more options to customise, not only the physical appearance of our characters, but that of our pets is important, it gives our characters a sense of identity and their own individuality. Even the advertisements for this game boast the levels character customisation as being one of their major selling points (Think I remember seeing this point in the recruit a friend email.)

I know the Roleplaying community makes up for a small portion of the player base, but SMN getting the chance to even glamour their egi's into Carbuncles was a massive boon for them. It gives them the opportunity to play the character they want. SCH's and hopefully MCH's should be given that option as well.

If people want healing Carbuncles, there lore already states that Carbuncles take on the aspect of the gemstone used to summon them, and IRL we attribute certain gemstones to healing (Like Jade, Amethyst and Aquamarine), if people want Male Fae, there's nothing to state that the Nymians didn't have male Fae.

We have the system in place already, doesn't hurt to take advantage of it and extend it to another job, and as an RPer and a Carbuncle lover who plays healing/support jobs/classes primarily, I sincerely hope that SE do give us those customisation options in future.

Would be cool if they could transform into a enchantix mode like winx club LMAO.
Like it could be a lv 70 skill for sch. "Enchantix mode" - doubles all effect on Fey skill by half in 60 sec.
And while u summon the enchantix mode u still can dps and takes 10 sec for the fairy to transform and from ur view u can see they undergo some transforme mode like in anime and a mini song still playing while they transform at the same time u guys r like dpsing and shit and nobody cares that the fairy goes tranformers mode xD

But srslt i want male fairyes too.
