What if one map went through the whole of the GS? There are large doorways that are unused that are similar to the one that is an elevator to the Choco Square.

They could tie it into a special gate even where part of the GS is cut off and participants bet on the winner

I didn't really support betting since I was positive they'd cite GSP trading as an issue but as a GATE? That seems like a super good idea. Really unlikely, but super good. It would remind people that even racing exists simply to see some segments of the race track coursing through the building. I really love that idea. As unlikely as I see it working out, I find myself hopeful now, haha ;
