I see where you're coming from having had a friend try this game and them feeling the same way you do about pulling in dungeons.

But FFXIV has always followed the tank, healer and dps method and most likely always will. Tank is always expected to lead the dungeon and as someone said in a previous post, enemy mobs in dungeons hit harder than regular enemies which is why tank is essential to a party. You should only pull as large a mob as the tank and healer can cope with. Even with an amazing tank and healer you can wipe on trash mobs if the party gets overrun because 1 person wanted to speed things up.

As for people kicking you, as others suggested it may be good to talk to your group at the start. You'll be surprised how friendly, helpful and accommodating a lot of FFXIV players actually are. Don't buy in to the negativity people have about the community.

Why every one in such a rush to get through dungeons. Also why wouldn't you let the tank pull.

Oh look, another one of these threads again. Don't do stupid stuff and then play the victim card when people inevitably get pissed off with you.

"I play how how want" is most definitely an attitude that will get you kicked - mainly because "how you want to play" is most likely going to be stupid.

You wipe a farm party constantly but you're having fun playing your way. Nah you're fine dude.

This community astounds me at times.

Hm, not really. As DPS pretty much you just gotta learn to adjust your strategies around the pace that your tank/healer team sets. If anything, the communication gets worse in later dungeons because by then everyone has worked out the most efficient ways to complete a run. Talking about it isn't really needed.

But this also goes two ways. If someone would like a run to go faster, they can speak up instead of trying to push everyone into it. Often there is a reason tank chooses not to pull big (eg: they haven't done the run often, or they noticed the healer is a little under-geared).

If you're not saying anything, they probably assumed you don't care about their opinions on the matter so what would be the point in trying to communicate with you?

The last time I played WoW was during MoP and you barely needed a tank or healer for any leveling dungeon which meant people just ran through obliterating everything. Unless there has been a drastic change I really doubt things have changed. Keep in mind this was only during leveling dungeons not end game or raids where things might need to be a bit more structured.

Mobs in leveling dungeons hit harder than you might expect, especially heavensward ones. Pulling more without knowing how well your tank/healer can deal with it is not advised, especially if they don't do it themselves. You will end up making it take longer, especially if no one is aoe'ing.

How you know it's not hard Play a tank/healer first through leveling and maybe your idea will change. Also when you try out healer don't be the one spamming cure and then jumping up and down and then come back to say how it's so easy/boring/stupid in ffxiv as healer.

To put it simply: It's not that easy as you think it is to mass pull in leveling dungeon (Lvl 60 is actually where people speedrun). If you want it goes faster then kill things faster!

Chaining pulls when the first mob is nearly dead, and mass pulls are different though. I stated chain pulling.

Not the DPS's place to do that, healers and tanks can have MP and TP management issues so might want to wait on that before the next pull.

Chain pulling usually doesn't work because people need the few seconds between fights to regain TP/MP. BLM is one of the few classes that don't need to worry about this.
