Actually I've played the other games he mentioned there (wow, swtor, aion...) and in none of those are dps responsible for pulling in dungeons. The tank's in charge of that, period.

In WoW, as a tank, if dps pulled, they tanked it until they killed it or died. Keep doing it and you'd get booted in a heartbeat.

@Vidu. That's a good point, that I could instead look for speed leveling parties. Perhaps I wasn't clear in my post then. My statement of there never being a dialogue meant that, I haven't once had someone ask me nicely to stop. I've had people just without words stop healing me, then after death say "That's why you let the tank pull". And this is mid way through the dungeon, not like pull # 1,2 or even 3. I've never chain pulled with groups that I feel can't handle it either. Never with cute sprouts. I see the way they play early, see they're not beginners, and then decide to chain pull. I have yet to wipe my group from doing this.

The key point though is that they don't ask me in a nice way to stop it.

ZERO conversation whole run. Halfway through dungeon: Healer lets me die from my pull
"That's why you let the tank pull"
"Hey, we haven't died yet, we're fine, just trying to save time"

The last time I played WoW was during MoP and you barely needed a tank or healer for any leveling dungeon which meant people just ran through obliterating everything. Unless there has been a drastic change I really doubt things have changed. Keep in mind this was only during leveling dungeons not end game or raids where things might need to be a bit more structured.

Mobs in leveling dungeons hit harder than you might expect, especially heavensward ones. Pulling more without knowing how well your tank/healer can deal with it is not advised, especially if they don't do it themselves. You will end up making it take longer, especially if no one is aoe'ing.

I of course agree the responsibility lies in the tank, in any mmo. That goes without question. However, in all of those games once you got to end game, did you (or anyone else here) not once develop the mindset of "Ok we don't need to be playing this safe, let's speed this up" and then change your play style accordingly?

Your not at end game, I rarely pull extra mobs in synced dungeons as they can hit hard, your attitude is pretty disrespectful to the tank and healer.

How you know it's not hard Play a tank/healer first through leveling and maybe your idea will change. Also when you try out healer don't be the one spamming cure and then jumping up and down and then come back to say how it's so easy/boring/stupid in ffxiv as healer.

To put it simply: It's not that easy as you think it is to mass pull in leveling dungeon (Lvl 60 is actually where people speedrun). If you want it goes faster then kill things faster!

Thing is though, this is a different game it plays differently and you can't just go pulling as a DPS thinking it's going to work out when a single enemy in most dungeons can kill you very quickly, besides this isn't WoW were you have millions of HP as a dps to rely on and monsters don't hit nearly as hard.

Chaining pulls when the first mob is nearly dead, and mass pulls are different though. I stated chain pulling.
