Chain pulling usually doesn't work because people need the few seconds between fights to regain TP/MP. BLM is one of the few classes that don't need to worry about this.

This, if nothing else. As a BLM it's easy to forget as you have infinite resources, but many other jobs can run out of mp/tp quite easily depending on the moves they're using, especially on lower levels, and need the out-of-combat downtime to regen their resources. For kicks, try leveling a marauder/warrior and see the difference when it comes to chainpulling.

You say you've been playing mmos for 15 years and this is the only one where people have had issue with you pulling as dps? BULL%&$#...not sure what planet you've been on but I've played several mmos over my 13 year career and never has it been ok for dps to pull unless it's with a group of people you know.

If you think your actions are ok, but theirs are not, maybe you're right.....you should probably move on to a different game. Take your "me me me" attitude somewhere please.

If they were able to hold a dialogue to come to an understanding, I'd be okay with the situation. But these kids can't take any words whatsoever that go against their style of play.

Well...to be honest it seems you also cannot take any criticism that goes against your style of play either.

You've been kicked several times due to the same behavior....isn't it upon you now to understand that most of the community seems unhappy with a DPS pulling mobs instead of the tank? Yet...you keep doing it?

These groups have given you indirect criticism about your play style and from what I've seen most of the community frowns on people pulling on non-tank jobs...so idk maybe accept it and change your ways or accept the fact you might get kicked often?

I understand your point about the groups not just asking you to stop first, but as others have pointed out you also could ask first.

Since you got kicked several times for the same behavior and you are aware it is that behavior that is getting you kicked...you technically did get a message telling you to stop. So maybe just stop doing it? From my experience most groups pull pretty fast anyway.

I have never gotten that mindset. I've always followed the tank and dealt with what he decided to pull. If you want a faster run, ask the tank first. Don't just pull more mobs willy nilly. If they don't want to, then leave or deal with it.

Well you have to remember every MMO has a standard method of play that the community as a whole has decided on. IN FFXIV tanks pull the mobs, just the way it is. Instead of pulling, you should ask the tank and healer if they can pull more packs to speed it up.

Kinda seems like some people took that 'kids' thing a little too personally, to me.

When tanking, a DPS running off to pull things ahead of you is sending a signal that they think you're tanking/pulling too slow. Sort of a gaming body language. It comes across as rude, regardless of your intentions, so it's good to communicate up front what your intentions are rather than wait for someone to get cranky with you because they're assuming you're being impatient.

Edit: Vidu Please stop with your victim card comments. I came to understand the situation not seek empathy. Many gave great constructive posts, and now I understand the other end better and can work on some of the positive comments like asking the party first if its okay to pull faster, before doing that behavior. Few of your comments were constructive. It seem's I've angered you very much so.
