I think this is a great idea and has been due for quite some time. I would just like to suggest, or hope that once implemented this would be a background pop-up. IE, it would not automatically switch you from your current active window if you have one open. Such as wiping out your chat if you are typing or crafting. this is already extreamly annoying and I would not want to see it compounded by different UI pop-ups. The best way is some kind kind of bubble or notification that slides onto your screen from the side or something. very noticeable, but not disruptive.
