3.5 pet peeve for me is cohealer spamming cure/benefic/physick after we fall in zurvan, when i have virused at the start cleaves, fey illu, rouse, whispering Dawn, steroid embracing and to get soar at 76% hp.... pls.. pls. i could (and have) solo heal this and outdps you at this point.

The less phases you have to deal with, the lower damage the party and specifically the tank has to endure, which means more time Lilly can keep the party healthy. It feeds into itself.

I love dps as my healers because it gives me something to do in the down time so I'm not falling asleep. I mean unless I have a tank that can't hold aggro or a tank that "forgets" what CDs are I have a ton of downtime lol.

I harbor no illusions that if I were to make a thread with a loaded title in the vein of this one, such as "Let's talk about how the healer DPS meta is awful and ruining healer gameplay" that the pro-DPSers would not be out in full force opining on it. It's a contentious subject, and the Internet is not a person's personal hugbox where dissenting opinions are not allowed. If I WERE to make a thread like the one I made up here, I would absolutely expect opposing discourse even if I nudged the conversation elsewhere with a deliberately leading title. I wouldn't tell people to STFU and go away, I'd simply either ignore the divisive comments or encourage discussion on points I think have merit. Me-tooism is the dearth of debate, in my humble opinion, and I think at this point it's impossible to mention "healers", "DPS", and "meta" in the same sentence without there being some sort of adversarial viewpoint involved, no matter the starting context of the thread.

I like dpsing as a healer because I find the actual dps classes unappealing. Finger gymnastics, combos, and awesome abilities that "can only be used while you have this buff from that other ability" suck IMO. As a healer I can toss up some dots and spam a nuke and enjoy some simple pew pew.

How many men am I involved with? Well that depends... do you mean men as in males? Or just midlanders?

By all means; if you felt personally attacked by my post there's nothing I can do about that.

I love to healer dps because weaving in dps with my full range of healing and damage abilities makes me feel like I'm at the top of my game.

If y'all are here to spread salt and vitriol, there truly is plenty of that in the anti dps threads.

With respect, people are entitled to their views, I really thought the post was amusing, but I empathize with It nothing was meant to be vitriolic about it and I for one am not agaist anyone's chosen playstyle. Not wanting to sound in anyway disrespectfull but you are the one that entered it with accusations of passive aggression.

Mainly because I am pretty certain I would fall asleep during dungeons otherwise. I would be all for (and possibly even more in favor of) healing being intensive enough on it's own... but as it is, it's not.

I hate DPSing as a healer
I do becoz ppl expect me to do
and I will fall asleep when doing nothing in dun

so I would prefer a heal intensive fight more than Cleric stance fight
in short big pull where tank keep dropping HP=more fun

~w~ Looks like we got a little off topic for a bit there and not everyone is well read when it comes to the Forum rules listeddddd...

    *Drumroll* Here: http://support.na.square-enix.com/ru...5382&tag=forum

Specifically Rule numero uno: "Posting content that does not follow the theme of the category or thread."

Given that this isn't a discussion topic, there isn't an argument to be had. Please refer to the threads where the players are partaking in a debate. ~w~

Also, I saw some posts earlier that I really related to, pre-HW, especially in dungeons, I would find myself nodding off or pretty much blacking out for a couple seconds if I got the low level roulette and I was stuck healing, I got to the point where I was running youtube on my phone right in front of my monitor and going full auto, that was probably the worst dry spell in XIV for me (even worse than this Umbrite grind.)

I love doing as a scholar. It has helped me understand my shield more, and I think I have become a master at stance dancing.

It also is satisfying to be able to push my party farther than they could have otherwise. Not to mention how good it feels for a party member to tell me my high parse.

As others have said, I would probably fall asleep if I didn't dps.
