well if SE doesnt make any changes, Aetheryte tickets will solve that issue.

It like what 500 gil? That not really expensive, why not pick up crafting or gathering? Don't need to be high level just low level gather or crafter will make more then enough money for things such as teleports, or run daily roulettes.
I disagree with OP, I definitely want to see them make the teleport fee for a trip from Aldenard to Othard much more expensive (10k+ gil?). This will make people plan out their trips a little better and/or use alternate forms of transportation (boat? airship?) to try to save some money.
Or even more interesting, make it so that you can't teleport across the three continents at all. You can use the teleport network on the Aldenard continent just fine, and you can use the Othard ones just fine, but Aldenard-Othard and vice-versa are not... compatible systems?
It's expensive to go from uldah to idyllshire?
As much as I love this and would love a more restrict traveling system it will never happenOr even more interesting, make it so that you can't teleport across the three continents at all. Could make a neat content based around teleporting to the new area I suppose lol, I agree with Bass9020 that it wouldn't be accepted for very long (for a short while it might be okay but it'd get old very fast).
Like for WoW with the Gates and stuff, these expansion events - except maybe this is an early after expansion event. Have to find a suitable repeater Aetheryte and then set it up at a defend-able mid point, but the Garleans want none of that as they find it threatening to their military advantage. So its this series of server based events of finding, excavating and moving a special repeater, to then defending the boat as Garleans attack from all directions at sea, finally once setup a bunch of Eorzean Alliance troops teleport in and you have a Echoing Stronghold and can now teleport into the new area fairly cost effective wise. Content could be a mix of Hamlet/Collect & Defense & Escort like FATE content.
But if it's very expensive or you can't it will be changed later for sure, people will have issue with it and slowly break SE down lol. Perhaps SE plans on this and just wants to get some extra gil while they can :P
Yeah, you could do a few beastmen quests for 500 gil too - fairly simple: one quest to pay for your teleport to the area, one to earn a free teleport and tokens, and another to pay for your teleport out of the area :P. Although if it takes distance in mind it will easily be more than 500 gil. I've had a 750 gil teleport before, and that's just within our own area lol.

I know I'd use it but I do agree, it would be considered dead content unless there was a chance of something to do there (like fishing) or perhaps a chance of encounter by enemies that only spawn there.
Why give the game new cities if they aren't made to be accessible? It's wrong to punish players by expecting everyone to have the time to do that. Some people have work, military duties, and school. In no way should getting to these new areas be expensive after unlocking them. We have to liberate them anyway. That's probably not going to be easy.I disagree with OP, I definitely want to see them make the teleport fee for a trip from Aldenard to Othard much more expensive (10k+ gil?). not my personal view of how the game should work
I'd rather they make continental teleportation (any place in Aldenard to any place in Othard) slightly more expensive (5-10k+) and implement a 10-15min ferry to Kugane that's cheaper.
