There shouldn't be any wall when it comes to leveling nowadays. Exp have been buffed, so let's try a couple different method's here to get you back on track. I've to admit I didn't read all the pages, if it was already answered ignore it.

Make sure you unlocked your challenge log, this is a weekly log that's unlocked at level 15, however most people forget about it since it's a side quest that starts in limsa upper decks. Good exp especially when it comes to leveling more than one class. Higher level you're, more exp you will get for finishing it. Now I am not saying you need to complete all of it, since it has crafting parts etc, but at least try to finish the dungeon, guildhest, player commendation. If you still have time on your hands, try aiming for fates, beast tribes (40+) and leve quest.

Do your hunting log, sometimes it can be tedious but it's a good chunk of exp. Fates, do them if you are close or going in that direction for your MSQ. Don't get out of your way because it's not worth it anymore. Side quests are great, but not needed either anymore, only areas if you have the time I would recommend are Sylph area down in gridania, Coertas Highlands, Little Ala Mhigo. Again not mandatory. If you have run the first 3 dungeons, which I do assume since you're level 30, unlock palace of the dead. Just in case you run in a wall as you call it, solo level 1-10 or join a group, quicker than grinding fates for hrs somewhere. Same as with the challenge log, as higher your level, more exp you'll be getting.

Dungeons in general, you mentioned you having a queue time of nearly an hr, try opening your duty finder and enable all languages. Later on you might want to turn that off, since it can cause longer queue's, but for lower level dungeons it's a great option. Also don't queue for just one dungeon, sure if you get into an dungeon that's your level you'll earn more exp but if you can get in a couple of lower level dungeons, and run let's say 3 of them in the time you're waiting for your level dungeon to pop, you will end up with more exp at the end. Duty finder let's you select up to 5 dungeons, go ahead do that, exclude satasha, tam tara, copperbell mines because it isn't relevant and doesn't give many exp.

If you have not unlocked it yet, I see a lot of new players not even knowing about that, pick up a leve quest in your starting city and complete that one. After you've done that, you've unlocked guildhest roulette. That roulette takes literally 2 minutes and gives a huge chunk of exp, as well as just doing the guild hests itself. You will have to unlock them till level 45 anyways, so why not just do that on the way while leveling up.

Daily Dungeon Roulette, here again, great chunk of exp so don't forget doing these once a day. Another tip, no matter what you're doing, dungeons/fates make sure you having exp food. It don't matter what stats are on it, if you don't want to invest into some pricier food, you can go to npc's and grab a couple of low level food that give an exp bonus for 30 minutes. If you're in a free company and it's not enabled, ask your faction leader or officer to enable the exp buff. While a lot of people don't think it's worth it, all these buffs can stack up and making your leveling experience much faster.

When logging out for the night or a couple of hours, make sure you're doing that in an Sanctuary, that will give a good boost to your exp as well if that little exp bar turns into rested exp (blue color), try running your roulette as example right after you log back in and have these kind of exp.

I understand that are the basics tho, but you would be surprised how many players I find when leveling my alts, that didn't think it's worth while or veterans that forgot that these things even exist. See if that takes you somewhere closer without hitting that wall. GL.

Ive run into a stop once, and that was when I did literally nothing but MSQ for a while.

This happened to me at level 40 (i am 42 now).
I did some PotD, a few leves, any FATE's i ran into and it hasn't been a problem.

Sounds like you're ignoring basic content, to be honest.

I've leveled several characters to cap and none of them struggled to gain XP on their first job (except for the late 40s as Niwashi just noted), they simply did the main story, sidequests, hunting logs, GC logs and an occasional FATE as they found them.

Sure, leveling a second job does require a grind but I've never had problems leveling the first.

It's gotten so bad, that I am currently level 32 and after starting the next main story quest after the lvl32 wall, I ended up being at 30% of my exp bar and not being able to continue with the story quest. This constant abruption is really turning my experience into hell. Most people are telling me that this should not happen.
In the end is this thing normal? Or am I not doing something right?
    Thank you in advance.
I was always overlevel, but that could because I would always stop and do fates, do all the sidequests, and I would also queue up dungeons everytime I got a new one just to get the first time bonus exp (and I like doing dungeons). I never had an issue keeping up in level even on HW content. You could say it's really grindy, but it worked.

Not sure how you would be underleveled?

I did some the side quests alongside the Main quests and I'm over-levelled by quite a bit. I'm pushing level 39 when content is 32/34 now.

Hall of Novice bumped things up too, class quests also added to it. I was going up in levels so fast I started avoiding optional content, but I'm still shooting forward so I've given up trying to keep it under control now, especially since level sync is around anyway. Didn't touch FATES much if at all, I think last I checked I had only finished 13 FATES.

Being underleveled is easy. Skip sidequests, don't bother about FATEs, and most importantly don't do any roulettes - just stick to the MSQ and only the MSQ. Do that and you will find yourself underleveled quite quickly.

In my days, assuming you focus a single class, doing the main story and ignoring all side quests would get you to 50 easy.

If your highest character is not high enough to complete the next main story quest, you may have to grind xp until you get past the wall.

Just make sure to focus a single class.

Odd, I'm level 56 and just got to Heavensward. I've done very few side quests and only 20 floors of PotD for off spec ability. I have done my bonus DFs every day though.

I had run my character all the way up to 12th level before even starting the main quests, just running around and killing things for fun.

I played FFXI originally and the order was... first you get your Chocobo at 20th (Been a while so don't remember)... then you get the ability to ride the ferry... then after that... you get your first airship pass... through the main quests. But in this game the order is strangely reversed.

However running around was getting to be a bit much so I wanted to get my Chocobo or start on it. The guys in the Linkshell told me the MSQ is how you get it... so there I was level 23 doing the level 20 quests and way ahead of my actual level I was supposed to be at.

I didn't hit what you were describing until level 39. Then I noticed the quests would leave me shy of the next level by about a quarter of a bar of experience. One dungeon run always fixed that in as hurry.
