It's a 1.0 leftover from when skills were more quirky. I agree it's stupid to have in the game as it is now, it's already weaker than carve and spit and fell cleave even before getting nerfed by low HP. They should really change it so it's 300 base potency and gains a bonus the higher your hp is.
I think its fine as is. It's up every 30 seconds where as C&S is up every minute. Assuming both pld and drk are OT and not taking damage, in one minute PLD does 300 + 300 = 600 potency and DRK does only 450 potency with DA. If anything the slience needs to be a bit longer 3 secs max though I doubt it as then they would have to balance it in pvp.
the silence is fine as it is as u mostly use it to interrrupt the target cast, 3 seconds silence in pvp omg lol rip xD
Not that PLD isn't already one of the most broken PvP jobs, lmao.
I kind of agree the damage penalty on Spirits Within is kinda dumb, tho. Even comparing it to DA+CaS, PLD's overall damage output is much lower than DRK's. Giving it the tiniest of boosts when MTing isn't at all unfair when DRK has better DPS tools that actually get much better when MTing thanks to Reprisal and Low Blow procs.
