    Explain Hallowed Ground

So im wondering exactly what Hallowed Ground does....the tool tip says "Renders you impervious to most attacks for 10s" so does that mean it gives 100% immunity to certain specific attacks or does it give a high % of immunity chance to all attacks?

My raid group moved here from swtor back in November so we are way behind most current groups and are only at Sophia EX but i have noticed that Hallowed doesnt always work on the tank buster, is that just me being a little late on hitting it or server lag? cus it does work sometimes or is it the latter to the above question where there is a margin where it doesnt work because of the %?

Hallowed Ground has an annoying delay tied to it. It takes effect about a second AFTER you hit the button. So you have to hit the button quite a bit before a cast bar finishes.

As far as how it works, it makes you invincible to everything but pushbacks and enrage attacks.

Don't wait too long to hit it, and you can help yourself by nudging yourself in any direction slightly after pressing the button, to clip the animation of whatever you were doing before you hit Hallowed.

It gives you a 100% resistance to all damage that isn't explicitly programmed to ignore it (boss ultimate attacks after failed checks, mostly).

For best effect, you should have the buff active (on your buff bar) before the enemy's cast bar (if visible) finishes filling, not just before the moment of impact. Other jobs' shields, like Manawall or Stoneskin, absolutely must be active before the enemy finishes casting. Hallowed Ground is slightly more forgiving than those, but you should still strive for this order of events:
    1. Push the button for Hallowed Ground.
    2. You gain the effect of Hallowed Ground.
    3. The enemies finish casting, or activate instant attacks.
    4. The enemies hit you for 0 damage.

Because of this timing, Hallowed Ground, like your other cooldowns, works best when its use is premeditated. Using it as an emergency ability will usually lead to using it too late, putting the ability on cooldown without providing the protective benefits.

There are 3 damage types (Physical, Magical, and Shadow) in game with several subtypes (blunt, slashing, piercing, fire, ice, wind, earth, lightning and water). Hallowed Ground gives 100% resistance to Physical and Magical damage and will negate any effects triggered by taking damage. Shadow damage is used mainly for boss limit breaks and enrage attacks.

Hallowed Ground has an animation lock of roughly 1 second and applies the buff at the end of the action. Due to how latency between client and server works, the server could end up sending a damage packet that kills you before after you use Hallowed Ground but before the Server gets your buff packet.

It basicly makes you immune to all forms of attacks and can mitigated certain effects as well.

But it wont make you immune agasint wipe mecs.

It can be handy for stuff like when Ravana was new, you could take 2 preys.

By taking 0 damage you also cancel a lot of the additional effects that enemy attacks have. Such as Vulnerability up, Knock Back, Max Hp down, Stun, etc.

By timing Hallowed Ground correctly you can give yourself enough time for your debuff stacks to wear off, instead of them being reapplied over and over. IE: You can hit Hallowed around 4 Vuln Up stacks to reset them back to 0 since the 5th stack will do 0 damage if timed correctly..

Not really relevant to anything significant, but falling damage is also excluded from what it protects against. Frankly, I'm leaning more toward believing that the initial delay is closer to being somewhere between 1.2 and 1.5 seconds given some annoying experiences on my end but maybe that's just me.

Nah! You have to know the fight, and when to use Hallowed Ground. That said, pushing the ability BEFORE the attack hits is crucial.

Also, don't use Cover and Hallowed Ground; you will still take damage.
