How do you feel about Dancer not being added with this expansion?

Iromi would be comparing it to dnc from ff XI which was a job based off a dance martial art style and if I recall correctly dnc could also use hand to hand weapons I would have to log into there to be sure cause it has been a while. Also remember she said dnc was her main on there.

She's not talking about the DNC from FFXI, she's talking about the Lady in Red, using the armory system as a "proof"

If she is not a dancer, well fine but she is not a monk because she does not use the weapons monks use.

In XIV, punches and kicks are MNK's primary attacks. But let's see it another way...if she was indeed a DNC, would people be happy with DNC mostly using punches and kicks like a second-hand MNK ?

Ok again please please please let's not restart the argument on this. A lot of old ff XI players will compare dnc to the one from there, obviously if it's released for XIV (hoping it will) there will be modifications done to it.

Look an nin as an example from what I've noticed is that take away the ninjutsu and you're left with ff XI's thf job basically with a few differences.

Dancer was never, ever, ever, ever hinted or mentioned or teased anywhere in the game leading up to Stormblood. I'm sorry that one of your favourite jobs wasn't added, it's always a shame when something you want isn't added, but the evidence was against DNC from the start and all it would take is a bit of common sense and knowledge of Eastern influences.

1. The trailer did NOT show a girl dancing, it was showing 'Kata', a choreographed fight between participants as a method of training and honing their skills.

2. Granted, the outfit bore resemblance of DNC, with the primary color or Red.

3. Both She and the WoL in that trailer were using highly stylised MNK attacks [Snap Punch/Fists of Wind/Fists of Fire to name a few], hers was just more elegant whilst his was more brutish.

4. I'll agree with you here, 'Multiple' was implying to me as more than 2 but less than 4, but after the RDM twitter leak, it was a nail in the coffin.

Just to reiterate, SAM/RDM were mentioned by NAME at the anniversary event 2 years ago as potential jobs for 4.0. BLU is mentioned in the ALC questline at least, with a teaser in the ENG region of the anniversary event. DNC, however, was simply nonexistent in both hints or teasers, so the people that jumped on the DNC wagon without doing some preliminary research set themselves up for disappointment.

I got my jobs into the expansion, I'm sorry you did not get yours, but time flies so here's hoping that 5.0 turns out to be an expansion that gets you right back in!

I'm sorry but the first trailer by no means whatsoever hinted at all to Dancer. It's clearly just a female monk.

yeah.... if the trailer was a hint at dancer... then dancer would be hand-to-hand fighter very similar to monk. people thought dancer would be a monk clone in a dress? despite not being hinted, I thought there was a chance it would happen because it's one of the popular jobs people have been asking for.

I didn't really want samurai and thought they would save that job for a more eastern themed expansion, because there was also no hint at all until recently that we would be going all the way to the far-east continent in this expansion.... until the final fanfest venue they revealed that major piece of information and now samurai fits the theme entirely. was very surprised that they held off announcing a major theme of the expansion that long, and it changed the way we think about stormblood.

Why is it so difficult for people to not argue? Is it too much to ask for something to not be turned into an argument?

This was supposed to be about how people felt about dancer not being added and about the hopes it's added in the future, not to argue a trailer yet again.

Nobody is arguing, people are stating facts, evidence and data for cases for/against. They're just clarifying that, while yes it sucks you didn't get DNC, there's no reason to be disappointed in SE over something /YOU/ hyped yourself over when the truth was glaring back at you with a giant neon sign, waving back and forth. /shrugs/ I digress, these threads always devolve into the OP claiming there's fighting/arguing or my favourite 'My opinion', there's no opinion left, only the truth. I will be editing my OP to try and help clarify things a bit once I get home from work to try and avoid conflicts.

Using wording like 'facts' can be a bad choice of words for how others portrayed something because it reminded them of this or that and leaves a person feeling any mix of emotions because their opinion/view is different. Opinions can be expressed without using 'facts' to support them.

I still think that girl is a dancer or something else though, I will never change my mind in saying she is not a monk, unless we can break the armory system. She attacks him with cloth, I'll stick by that no matter what. If she is not a dancer, well fine but she is not a monk because she does not use the weapons monks use. If she is then I want a blade and cloth weapon on my monk damnit.

We do not know what she is and just because the job was not announced does not mean she is not a unique job or something else entirely.

He did not confirm or announce anything regarding her, so we still have to wait and see for the next part of the story...or maybe even longer.
